Yes we are still flying blind here unfortunately, the dealers now know of the 2014 and will order them but still no info on models or specs.. Not sure how long HQ can keep them in the dark as they are selling cars that they don't know the price, spec or model.
Think we need a new thread to gather and post Australian /RHD intel.?. There was one on here when the 2011 was launched
Hey did you know that Jeep Australia had planned to secure 25% of the whole SRT 2014 built, I guess the V8s not dead here yet even though many of us will order diesel.

Well they tried pretty hard, ending up with 17% of the 2013MY worldwide SRT build. That put them in the No. 2 spot, right behind the U.S.

My friends expect that their music collection which fits on their phone will be wirelessly available on road trips, or they can plug it in if we don't feel like pairing the phone.

I can totally understand why it's an option for you old school people, but I get why it's not standard anymore.
Generally speaking I think it probably is a generational thing, but not for me, as I'm actually younger than you.

Truth be told, I don't really purchase CDs (or music at all) often, it's probably been about a year actually. Also, whenever I do buy a CD, I transfer it to my MP3 player and from then on play it from there. So could I get away without the CD player, absolutely... but I also foresee situations, occurring often or not, where I think I'll be glad that I have it.

I too can understand why it's not standard; we're definitely at that point where it can't really be called a "stupid" move (whereas just a couple years ago it probably would be). I don't really care much either way since it is available as an option, but personally I do think it would make more sense to be standard than not standard because CDs haven't gone the way of cassette tapes yet: they're still sold in the millions and if this January 2012 CNN article is correct, CDs still account for about half of all music sales.

The other nice thing about CDs I forgot to mention is that you can buy them used for a fraction of the cost of a digital album, often times for just a buck or two if that.

Actually though Buick is building some nice looking "younger" cars these days. I think they're still probably largely targeted to an older demographic than average, but based on appearance alone while they might not necessarily be my first choice, I don't think I'd mind owning one of the newest Buick designs.

+1. I don't need access to thousands of hours of music in my car. Load a CD, play it, so much easier, faster. Decades ago people predicted the end of vinyl records, and look what's happening:

"For the fourth consecutive year, Nielsen reports that more vinyl LPs were purchased than any other year since they began tracking sales in 1991. In 2011, vinyl albums accounted for 3.9 million in sales, exceeding the previous year’s record of 2.8 million LPs, for an increase of 36%."

Long live the CD (and the LP!).

This is what should be offered in the 2014 WK, lol:

Durango tidbits? What's cool is that all I have to do is copy all of the WK2 tidbits into the 2014 Durango thread and I'm good to go, will save me a lot of time!
