Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Well.. I usually try to come here bearing gifts of good news, but this time, not so much.. We've actually hit a couple unexpected snags, and production has slowed waaaay down, almost to a halt. This plays a huge part in the adjusted build ratio Marlon referenced. None of you guys found it strange that we're building WDs at a such a higher ratio (to WKs), when we're currently launching a WK!??? I thought you guys were sharper than that. I won't go into detail with what's going on, but lets just say we're having some "outside" issues.

Actually, this feels like a déjà vu moment for me, bc one of my last posts was about EXACTLY what's happening now! The "cakes" aren't cutting it. Marlondamus predicted a mix up few weeks ago. But to be clear, these issues have absolutely NOTHING to do with anything done by ANY of us involved in the actual build process, but rather those who get all the credit, and some outsiders. Maybe Milous or Scott can can shed some light for you guys, but I'm sure the powers that be wouldn't want Marlon or myself running our mouthes about it.. So that's part of why I've kept quiet.

But fret not folks! From what I understand, similar issues have come up in other recent launches.. However, I don't wanna downplay this as common and/or make any false equivalences, bc I'm sure it wasn't on this scale, and this is NOT something that happens regularly. But I trust they'll get this straightened out soon, and they won't make me an April fool, when my delivery deadline comes.

I'll update you guys when things are back up and running, and the line is hittin on all cylinders in high gear..

Yeah.... That.

However, remember... This is a good thing. Without going into detail, a senior employee said it best when a new guy asked him what was going on. To quote this dude...

"Quality! And you know what? It's about time."

I just realized that my PM inbox was full!

My apologies to those of you who may have tried to message me.

I still think we need a JNAP status thread...

Yes, please keep us updated... this is scary and I hope they get whatever's going on straightened out soon.

What's a "cake" by the way? (Only answer if it won't get you in trouble of course...)

Not quite the first batch, I think prior to the official reveal they built several hundred pilot builds that (I think) were in essence exactly what the final version would end up being.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

chevy or anyone else, can you at least enlighten us as to how long it might take before things start moving along normally and without issue? Like is this something major that will take weeks if not months to resolve or could we theoretically be looking at a "fix" within days?
