battery issue...whats the purpose of placing the battery underneat the passenger seat not under the hood,,,and you have to go to the dealer to have it check or replaced,,and the battery cost around $500...l was thinking of purchasing a 2013 GC but when l learned the battery storage l was dissapointed....hopefully the 2014 GC will changed that...back under the hood,,,we will see,,,

theres several reasons

-helps with handling to get the battery off one corner

-its easy to get to under the seat....not what you think. Just slide the seat all the way forward and rais eto its highest limit if you need alot of room.

-its protected from the elements somewhat better

-those batteries are made to last like 8-10 years

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

They didn't change the chassis appreciably, the battery is still under the seat.

Nothing to check, it's a sealed agm battery, and you can replace with aftermarket, Optima for example, for way less than $500 bucks.

^^edit.. 205'd

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Well here's a post that's good for a few replies;

Just got an update from a friend who works afternoons, and she said things are slow again today, and there's rumors of a temporary layoff..
