Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

WAP afternoon shift was short shifted at lunch due to parts shortages possibly related to I75 tragedy. So we didn't hit our 1500 yesterday.

Their govt. doesn't allow any auto importing. At least not from us. HOWEVER, we can send pieces of a car down there and let them assemble it for their consumption. So that's what we do! We ship all the trim stuff, powertrains, paint, etc down there, and over here in body we assemble several body parts and package them up and send em. My underbody parts just get sent direct to them for them to weld together, but the bodysides have the reinforcement skins welded in here. The doors are built. Hoods. Liftgates. Wheelhouses. Etc..

Its an EXTREMELY lucrative deal. We used to do it every night after the shift ended, and Dayshift did it before the shift every morning.. That's slowed waay down since '14s went into pilot though.. But it'll be back. The execs like those big bonus checks too much. And we don't mind a lil more overtime.

Around this kind of "nature", your new truck will likely look more "dalmation" than "Max Steel".

How 'bout under the new headlamps? I remember somebody a few hundred thousand posts ago talked about some black flipper filler plastic washer velcro tape thing. If it's that useless, maybe it was meant for an autograph or two?

I can't do what he does and it has nothing to do with the union. I just refuse to learn is all. Too big and cumbersome for me.

Considering both the HID and incandescent headlights are projector, any thoughts, or better yet, first hand experience on their relative performance?

Thanks,

No problem, thanks anyway for looking! I would personally have been surprised if it was built already considering it only went into D1 status yesterday.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Hey Jeepers.. I see you decided to join us! I didn't find your truck man. I'll take a look see again in the morning when I'm well rested, and I can tell the difference between the trims and actually read the VINs.. I didn't get any sleep, so I wasn't on my A-game. I even forgot to bring my paint pen..

Btw: I cant remember, did you want some scribble too?

Edit: You just beat me posting!

Agreed. According to the manual the incandescent bulbs are the same as for 2011-2013 so I wonder what kind of difference the projectors will make for the incandescent headlights.

Scott made it sound like it was a good thing, so...
