Here's a good basic description, from the new Dodge Ram:

All-new Powernet Electrical Architecture
As the Ram 1500 continues to offer more feature content, it created the need for a technology that allows more information to be electronically communicated within the truck. The new Powernet system, used for the first time on a Ram 1500, allows both high- and low-speed data networks to be equipped with as many as 40 individual modules, all designed to improve vehicle performance and enhance the comfort and safety of driver and passengers. Within the Powernet high-speed network, each module (e.g., electronic stability control) processes its individual data and transmits the appropriate commands within the vehicle to activate any additional systems (e.g. anti-lock brake system and cruise control). Uconnect leverages Powernet to deliver fast response time, and share critical information between the 8.4-inch touchscreen and the vehicle information center. The Powernet architecture also is the backbone that supports the Uconnect Access services and applications, including the Ram 1500 vehicle health report and remote services.

Milous, when do you expect to be able to release the "champagne popping" additional information regarding the diesel that you mentioned?? Can you give any hints!!??! Are we talking within the next few days, or within the next few months?

The Viper's pushing 640 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque

It's not always making those numbers!!! I'm sure the 640/600 is near RPM redline. Your engine makes less power lower in the RPM band.

My first thought was Viper shot as well.

I'm not saying those numbers are a constant. That's just what Chrysler claimed in the press release for it.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Heres my thought. If the future factory SRT8s come with a supercharger to make the 550/540 numbers as shown in the picture. That doesn't seem like much of an increase. The numbers they advertise are crank HP numbers. So, to only bump up the crank HP from 470 to 550 isn't much. From the first gen WK1 SRT8s bolting on a Vortech yielded 100+ AWD HP. Add roughly 17% for drivetrain lose to get back to crank power added. So basically the factory adds 80 HP, but a vortech added 120+ HP. Hmmm...

Nonetheless, it's still cool. I enjoy watching SRT develop and grow.

But it's with the smaller 6.2l engine so that may only be 440hp to begin with?
