Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

At the cost of around $600 to have dealer enable nav on RA3, it isn't the same as what would be on the RA4. Cheaper and better to get the RA4

"High Resolution" screen. If the rumors that the screen is 640x480 is correct, they should be accused of false advertising! 640x480 is NOT high res.

My thoughts exactly - I had early on figured out I'd be ordering a Limited as opposed to an Overland just to save some bucks, and thought I'd be ordering the Lux Group II on my Limited. After studying the contents of that package, however, I realized the only thing I'd miss by not ordering it (and therefore getting a solid roof with no holes in it) is the bi-xenon headlights. Wife's car has a sunroof; I never use it. Instead, I got the ORA II package - so I hope the Quadra Lift is trouble free.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Milous, Chevy

Sitting back with a loaded gun and wanting to shoot something. Prefer to bag a Summit but no Billet Silver nor Black/Saddle or Black/Sepia Interior. Any Chance in Next Month or So things change or Special Model for Summit/Overland???

Backup is Overland (saves $2,000 but prefer to spend it) in Billet Silver with above interior which is less chance of getting IMHO !!! But as Consolation Prize I read several days ago that Billet Silver could be ordered with Brown/Indigo Blue. True or Gremlin in the Ordering System???

$600 to upgrade the RA3 to get the Nav. That is just hideous, for something I have on my tablet and phone. What is this Ra3, Ra4 anyway, must be some kind of PLC with output contacts to change the heater controls. If the resolution really is that low, that's a shame. I will still get it, but in perspective I spent $300 on a Nexus 7, doesn't seem like I'm getting alot for my money, when I have to spend $1700 for the Laredo E package to be allowed to spend $1500 to get the RA3 radio, you get 4 free 18" wheels though. Just not getting it. Is there anyway for me to get the trailer tow and off road 1 without the Laredo E option package???

I just noticed version 3 of the Owners Manual. Haven't looked at it yet.

RA3 and RA4 are the 8.4" radios. RA4 comes with the HK nav ready to go, RA3 had to have the nav enabled. When I said about $600, that was just to enable the nav on the RA3 radio.

Here is the link to the radios http://www.wk2jeeps.com/wk2_radios_2014.htm

At least you can drive the veh with a sunroof rattle. You might want to research QL. Can leave you dead in the water (suspension collasped). Weeks to diagnose problems. Flying in engineers to assist in diagnosis and repairs. Buy backs due to unrepairable QL. Very expensive to repair after warranty runs out if repairable at all. I don't need unneccessary headaches as I keep new vehicles for a long time so I'll be going with OR1 and Trailer pkg. You don't get QD ELSD with the 3.6 anyway in the ORII.

I finally get to ask a real question or two...on the trailer tow package it says "heavy duty engine cooling" but says nothing about a transmission cooler...do they really not have a trans cooler ? Is there truly no way to get a Laredo E with the built in universal garage door opener and 115v outlet without a sunroof ?

Think Outside !- No Box Required.
