Thanks for your replys.I'm impulsive and a new vehicle is all I want to think about.I've done this before and it usually works out O.K.

Thanks, Milous!

I was just thinking that Jeep could use some additional horses from a marketing POV. Always looks good if you can promote a new tranny, a higher MPG, a faster acceleration AND a few additional HPs..

Especially during mid-facelifts, manufacturers love to play with those numbers - although they don't make a crucial difference on the road.

Will the ACC option still be available only in Limited and Overland models?

I would imagine so. Not an option you would typically see on base model cars.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Guess you're right. But I'm seeing 2013 well equiped Altitudes selling for more than limited and overland models at my dealer so they cant be considered base models... I would like to see it available on the laredo X or an eventual special Údition. I hear that the 2014 limited and overland will be sparkling with even more chrome (not sure how that's possible) and that turns me off. So I'm trying to figure a way to configure a laredo X with all the options I need... Not easy!

Thanks Milous, I'll stick with the plan to "de-chrome" an Overland...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Manufacturers always have "loss leaders" for Scots and fleet buyers, Pontiac even bought Ford transmissions in the '60s to do so.

Personally, I buy a new car to keep for a long time, usually takes me a year to make the way I want it to be. Cars today are in the middle of a technological revolution that is trying to preven owner modifications since they worry the bean counters.

Know this is going to be unpopular but with the state of entertainment and monitoring systems today, I would prefer that it had been available with a "radio accomodation package" All that is really needed is an amp, speakers, and a way to connect a full featured tablet (Android or iOS).

Today, what you can order are things usable only with the rest of the heep attached and to me that is a fundamental error.

Thumbs up Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Good morning Milous,

I have a 2002 Ford Explorer with a small V8 that I'm looking to trade in in the near furture. I have a couple of questions for you:

1.Stop & Go Technology - Can you briefly explain the "stop & go" technology I have been hearing about? Will it be available on both the v6 & V8? How would this tecnology effect the towing ability of this vehicle? Strain on the engine, electrical system, etc.?

2. Towing - Right now my Explorer with the 4.6L V8 handles my fishing boat quite well. My boat's overall weight, with all my gear runs anywhere between 3500 - 3700 lbs. I live in the Midwest, Chicago area, with very little hills BUT I do travel to Wisconsin and Minnesota to my favorite fishing lakes.

I'm looking at the 2014 Overland and wanted to do research on this technology and the ability on the GC to replace my Explorer.

Thank you for your expertise and knowledge in this forum!!!

You may be confusing the Cruise Control w/Stop with Engine stop/start technology which shuts off/restarts the engine to save fuel. I don't believe that the engine stop/start feature is going to make it into any 2014 Grand Cherokee models.

The Cruise Control w/stop feature is a "full" cruise control that is able to bring the vehicle to a complete stop (when traffic gets heavier), and then automatically resume vehicle speed. The current system (without the "Stop" feature) cuts off below a set minimum speed, requiring driver intervention.
