That info was from the preliminary 2014 information page, from earlier last year. At the time it was assumed that the 2014 WK was going to get the Gen I radios, same as in the 300 and Charger. It was later determined that the Gen II versions would be ready in time for the WK launch. Gen I is Garmin and Gen II is Harman. I'll have to update that page and reference the newer 2014 radio page.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Offroad related question:

It's looking like I may be able to afford the Overland after all. Will be getting ORII no matter what I get. Just wondering if anyone knows about the lower exterior trim (its been a long day, am I even usin the right term?). On the Limited, is it painted or is that the color of the trim? If its the latter, it would maybe wear better if I was going to offroad this thing.

I actually prefer the Limited exterior (chrome towhooks? I will likely use those things.), but prefer the Overland interior by far. I don't care for 20s, and I prefer dark wheels. Wish I could get that combo from the factory.

That being said, if the lower trim were painted that color then it wouldn't wear any better than the Overland, and the painted lower trim is a lot nicer visually.

Sorry, I've been outside all day screwing around with cars.. Anyway, I'm unclear about what you're asking?

Is there something unusual about them that I'm missing? They just look like CRD pilots to me.

Oh ok.. Probably just high altitude fuel map tuning and/or torque drop off testing.

As many of you all know, FI engines do a lot better at altitude than NA engines, but proper tuning is a must, otherwise they actually run worse.. I'll never forget the day while driving a semi, my truck mysteriously decided it needed to regen and wouldn't let me override, then went into limp mode while I was climbing Jellico mountain. Needless to say, it's extremely hard to pull 50k + lbs up a grade with only 12-15psi boost.

Not that your Jeeps (CRDs) will ever see that kinda stress, but they have to make sure the guy in Denver can enjoy the same performance with his, just like those in the low-lands.

I believe it was late last week that Milous said that none of the WK2's he's monitoring on his tracking list has been built. So are the hundreds and hundreds of completed 2014 WK2's then just sitting in a parking lot?

I assume they will have a launch where dealers will pick up a few trucks to show at their dealerships to the public. Every region will have a pick up point. They could be what these trucks are for.
