ORA II on the 3.6 P-star Overland adds/changes: = 18"x8" wheel/tires, Skids, Trail rated Badge. That's all !!!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Man...the interiors of these show vehicles take a beating!

look at the abrasion marks on the lower dash and the door panels of the Indigo interior...like people are kicking it on purpose.

I mean...this happens to all interior plastic, but mine only look like that after 4 winter months!

As washed out as the indigo pictures are...made me feel good about how it'll look. Looks pretty blue in the pictures, but the brown looks tan under the fluorescent lights...so the blue should be more toned down in person.

Thanks for posting....more pictures always welcome!

And hey, you should have that right to use your GC as a dual purpose vehicle with whatever features your heart desires..

All I'm saying is that 1.) there should be a model for those who are, or seem to be off-road conscious, and don't have $50k to spend on a Trailhawk. And secondly, above all, the GC should be marketed as dual purpose, but not at the expense of capability. Not a road king and trail queen like the upper trims are.

Just think about it.. The idea with the Summit seems to be to draw in those who'd typically go for foreign brands, but win them over by undercutting them on pricing. Well in order to do that and make a profit, you wind up sacrificing on certain things. They can draw ppl (such as yourself) in, but if you feel that your Jeep doesn't perform as well as a Land Rover for example, then they'll lose you, bc most who can afford a Summit can afford a Range Rover anyway, but who doesn't like saving money?... So maybe they shouldn't undercut them so much..

IMO what they need to do is poop or get off the pot. If you wanna make a cost efficient capable SUV, fine.. It's won a lot of awards. Most ever. But if you wanna play with the big boys, then stop the foreplay, and lets get down to business! There's NO reason anyone here who's buying an upper trim should be talking about what's lacking, that the others have. If the Summit is $50k, then dammit it should've been $55k. That way everyone could have everything they want, and that name on the hood can continue to stand for what we all know it by.

This ain't no startup, this is Jeep. And if you think you can put a dog in the fight, then put a dog in the fight.. It's all or nothing. Cause there's nothing worse than paying good money for something that's lacking anything.

yeah...at detroit it was bad. The press was beating those things to death...inside and out. Camera bags, equipment, shoes etc. It was almost comical watching some of those guys....

actually disrespectful... press gets special days... they need to be more appreciative to what gives them their story. also its a shame that the public in itself is not more careful with these machines. I know its a show but its also not a "lets see how many dings we can get this time" contest either.

Great pictures. Sucks how bad these things get beat up at the shows. I can already see people looking for something to raise a fit about point out poor build quality when they see all the dings and scratches.

Just like folks here who talk about beating the crap out of a rental car. It's too bad, but it is what we see/hear every day.

What other manufacturer sells five models of the same vehicle with such a wide price range? Even if you make the SRT it's own division, it is still a GC and will be associated with every other model in the lineup. Same with the Summit.

Maybe Chrysler needs a luxury brand with luxury coups, sedans and SUVs. I don't think Imperial is being used.

thats true, and then they are the first ones to bitch about a vehicle rental price increase. "Well I'm paying for it for the week". People may be, its no reason to abuse the rental its why the rates go up. More maintenance on a rental vehicle, more fees for us. People don't think or respect anything anymore. Really is sad.

As for what Specx said, thats true also. people look at these Jeeps in the pictures and see the dings, chips, scratches and creased leather and think what cheap materials and horrible quality. They do not look at a broad picture and think oh, 200 people must have entered and exited that jeep in the past 5 hours.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Got the Laredo E for getting thru the occasional snow in the north east. Don't need 20" wheels, chrome towhooks, and leather everything to accomplish that.

With Jeep planning on selling more than 200K '14 Grand Cherokees this year, there will likely be a few that do. But one man's off-roading is another man's afternoon drive.

I've got a '14 Summit on order because I need the air suspension and traction that my current 2012 Mercedes ML350 can't provide. I drive back and forth between Canada and Mexico each year, and like having a comfortable car for long distance driving. But, the back roads in Mexico can be a real challenge, requiring high clearance, and in the rainy season serious traction is a must on mountain roads. The Benz is great, but just can do what the JGC can.
