Yes it was a V6, very quick for a vehicle of that size but transitions seemed a but sluggish. Definitely not a fan of the paddle shifters, this isn't a sports car after all. Turning radius was excellent much better than my last SUV.

Overall though I had a big smile on my face after the test drive. Certainly a very nice upgrade from the previous generation. Personally I'm waiting for the diesel as this will be my vehicle to drive to Florida in the winter with my wife, dogs and golf clubs (though not necessarily in that order of importance ).

The beige interior had a lighter stitching, same color palette though. The leather wasn't as nice as in the Overland and this wasn't a Lux pkg which I believe gets nicer leather too. Although I'm a big fan of darker interiors anyways.

Hope this helps.

What I did was to look at the challengers on the dealer's lot. It gets you a closer idea. Struggled long and hard and then chose the Redline only to find that the SRT Redline is now a March 23 delay according to Milous's list.

ha, ha, I just read this part out aloud to my wife. We both laughed. She said, "God, you'd have fun touring America calling in on these blokes"

I am hoping that is what I find out when I go back to the dealerships. I was actually looking for the V8, so i hope i can still keep it to around $40k. I did see what you orderd and that looks right up my alley. What are must haves as far as package/option selections?

Does the 2014 Limited have real wood interior applique/trim?

Yes, it does - either Miknasa Walnut or Nador Brown Walnut trim; the former with the black interior and the latter with the Black/Lt. Frost Beige interior.

Anyone know if the tire on the ORA II wheel is the Michelin Latitude Tour?

Depends on your tastes/wants/wishes/desires. Using the invoice pricing on P. 1 of this thread ---> 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing, just build one to your specs, take $1,750.00 off that total, and add the $995.00 delivery charge. That net result will be the most you should pay for one, and you can possibly do better. My only firm recommendation is that you get the RA4 radio if you think you'll want navigation now or any time in the future.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Just curious, with the MY11 - MY13 Laredo (Australian spec but possibly the same issue with the US spec) it didn't come with a FACTORY INSTALLED rear parking sensors option. If you wanted parking sensors then the dealer would install a Mopar kit.

But the Mopar dealer fitted kit is independant and is not connected to the EVIC, and i believe has no switch to deactivate it if you have a trailer attached and put it in reverse (the beeper will keep beeping like crazy).

The upper models have rear and front parking sensors connected to the EVIC. Is there any way to option a lower spec MY14 (Laredo) to have factory fitted (not dealer fitted) rear and/or front parking sensors that are connected to the EVIC like the upper spec models?

If not, why not? What is the difference and is there a electrical reason that it can't be done? The Aus version MY14 (all versions) i believe will get the RA3 radio and the rear parking camera as atandard, so there should be no reason why technically it can't be done.

If someone knows and could offer some info that would be great.

Zillajnr.....do you know something other Aussies are waiting to hear. No one over here knows what we are getting. Just speculation. I would have thought our top range Jeep GC, whatever its going to be (Overland or Summit) would have the RA4 Radio.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Hi Webber, sorry, my dealer confirmed with me that even the MY14 Laredo (Aus spec) will get the 8.4inch radio, being the RA3, we didn't talk about the top range which i would imagine would be RA4.

I, like all the other Aussies, are going crazy with the lack of info from Jeep AUS.

The RJ4 will be Standard on the Overland-up models.

The Laredo will come Standard with the RJ2. The Limited, RJ3.
