Talking Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

My tipping point was the new transmission, I decided on the Hemi and thought that would offset some of the fuel cost.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

i really think i want to wait and test drive the 3 engines before i decide, but i do know i want the most comfortable seats possible. which model of seats do you guys think are the best? the summit or overland? I've owned a 1997 limited, 2004 special edition, 2005 rocky 1mountain (wife's), 2006 limited and currently drive a 2011 ram laramie. Of all those the 2004 special editions seats were the best.

The press release closeup of the Max Steel limited wheel shows a Latitude Tour mounted, and that one had the OA2 package evidenced from the tippy toes Quadra Lift shots.

The Limited at the Chicago auto show, non OA2 (no quadra lift), also had the same Latitude Tours.

Whether that is definitive of what the production tire is... ?

Kinda why I asked to begin with. There's a thread (Off-Road Adventure II Package Tires) that goes back a ways, where some of the posters got quite testy about the use of the term "on/off road" to describe the Latitude Tours. I certainly don't want to stir that hornets nest up again. Just thought someone on the line could clarify what's going on the ORA II vehicles. I have a good friend who manages a tire store, and I can probably get a good deal swapping out the tires if they turn out being something that doesn't suit my needs. The question was just curiosity on my part.

X2. The Latitudes (all 8 versions) seem to get bad reviews as M/S tires on Tire Rack and the Tour is certainly not an off road tire. I plan on trying to swap them also..

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Just test drove a my14 laredo V6... WOW. Huge difference in get up and go from the my13. That 8spd tranny is most excellent. The butt dyno was very pleased.

What, that's it?!? No pictures, videos, 3D computer simulations showing live vehicle dynamics, or anything?!?? C'MON WE NEED DETAILS!!!

No, seriously though that's awesome. As someone on the precipice of pulling the trigger on a V6 '14 Overland, music to my ears!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Okay so I also affirmed that the max steel color is definitely awesome, even on an overcast day. And that I like the extra chrome touches on the Limited Vs. the Laredo... and in fact I really liked the black interior on the limited a lot. The silver in the interior definitely has some slight goldish/bronzish tint to it but it looks great. The standard headlights look really nice without the black plastic filler but I still think I want the HIDs and the LUX2 group. However, I might save myself some $$$ and get a loaded limited instead of the Overland.

I am also in the same boat. I will do a swap if the OA1 comes with Tours. Hopefully within a few days there will be some OA1 and OA2 equipped 2014s on dealer lots somewhere in the country. Figure maybe I might find one, call up, and ask..

Maybe Marlon or Chevy can take a look and see if anything has changed 2013 to 2014?

Maybe they can barge into the board room and knock some heads together.
Somebody needs to get it through their heads that calling a tire off road doesn't make it so.

When the manufacturer rates it a 3 out of 10 in this area, it doesn't belong on a Trail Rated Jeep.
