Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Hey guys, will someone do me a favor and go back to page 849 of this thread and tell me what color that is on the 4 or 5 full size pics on the bottom of the page. Thanks in advance.

Nothin' wrong with venting. I think in one way or another most of us are settling for either more or less than we want.

Ahh ... to find the perfect vehicle.

That's Maximum Steel. It's the same color as Bill de's signature (the one below your post).

Use caution, the Jeep website and fluorescent lighting make the colors look lighter (more pronounced). Actual colors seem darker in person...in my opinion

ditto...viewed yesterday on 2013 Jeep in dealer lot walk-around in abundant AZ sunshine..still way too dark, imo..thought it woud be somewhat more "blueish'' especially in direct sunlight. Decided on Billet Silver. It comes down to personal preference and taste..we're all different.

Thanks Al, I've seen MS before and it did not look like that. It looked more black, as does Forest Green....IMHO.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Does anybody have any suggestions for a good replacement tire for off road capability, but keeping good highway manners. I was looking at the BFG Long Trail, or the All-Terrain T/AŽ KO, but I can't find the correct sizes.

^^. Do a search within WK2 forum (not this thread). Debated to death with 11 to 13 models and there is apparently no right answer.

I'm a big German car enthusiast & value the experience as much as anyone, but without quality I'll stay away. Then again, isn't the new 8 speed the same tranny used by BMW? The diesel looks interesting, but what kind of history does it have? Wasn't the last Jeep diesel something of a dog? In any event, with diesel a good 15% or so higher than gas in my area there has to be at least a 15-20% increase in fuel economy to justify it--and that's before the premium price for a diesel is factored in.

Still, the JGC is on the short list. I anxiously await road tests, reviews & reading of real owner's experiences.

I have a 2005 GC Limited with the 5.7 Hemi. I am at 123K miles with a grand total of $2K in minor things all picked up by my $2K extended warranty. I have an SRT on order but plan to keep driving the 2005. I think one gets lucky with the individual car

A few different replacement tires are mentioned in this thread about ORAII tire shortcommings. Off-Road Adventure II Package Tires
The Michelin LTX M/S2 is reported to maintain on road quiteness and good offroad performance with 60,000+mi tread wear. Good Year Silent Armour AT and Michelin LTX AT have more aggressive tread with good offroad performance but with a little less tread wear mileage. There are quite a few alternatives in this tire size. You can read reviews and info on 40 different tires in this size at tirerack.com
