Yup. That is what I was trying to say. After going through endless of google search images of the colors, I am now quite sure that I'll go with Overland granite and Brown/Lt. Frost.

Also decided on AWY off-road adventure II. Yes, I am going for the 18" but I can upgrade to the 20" later. Cannot upgrade to the protective plates that easily the other way round. Also, when I was reviewing the tires on tirerack.com, the Michelins that come with the 18" took top place.

The color shown on the Jeep website is in no way remotely close to the granite color shown on the Challenger.

I can understand a shade or two different but not to the degree above.

I have an appt with the owner of the dealership who ordered my Summit in a couple hours to get more info and find a solution

I'm a big boy SnoFire and I can deal with this - save your laughter for someone else.

I'm not laughing at you or anyone, just find it interesting. Some people are quick to blame someone else for their own mistake. Yes the pictures online aren't exactly right, we would all hope they would be closer than that. Case in point, the Max Steel looks really blue but in real like it doesn't look that blue at all.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I believe that many of the internet color representations are not physical photographs of the vehicles, but Photoshop type coloration of the different offerings over the same vehicle.
Many of these colors may have not yet been applied to actual vehicles, as they are put up before the physical vehicle come down the assembly line.
Very few products look the same in real life as they do when computer generated.

Apology gladly accepted. You are obviously very knowledgeable as to the Jeep buying experience and I appreciate your input here.

I met with the dealership owner. He showed me the Granite Metallic color chip in his files. It looked Black - in fact, you had to look at the Black chip to see the diff and then it was only about 1/2 a shade. I showed him the example of Granite Metallic on the Jeep website and he said, "That's a completely different color".

That makes zero sense to me. If you only offer 5 colors in the Summit, why make two of them almost identical ?

I asked him about the possibility of changing the order and he didn't seem too excited about it so I didn't pursue it. They never asked for a deposit from me to order and he very nicely told me I was under no obligation to take the car when it comes in. So, I guess I'll wait until it arrives and have a look see.

For those of you considering the Cashmere Pearl, he had one there - it happened to be sitting next to a 2012 JGC White Gold - the pearl is about a shade lighter than the WG - less gold in it - it looked kind of blah.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

The Granite, although dark, might look especially good on the Summit because the lower fascias and rocker panels, below the lower chrome portions, appears to all be painted granite also.

Google search images for Granite and you will get a better understanding of how it looks. Many compare it to magnetic gray from last year and I felt it looked really sharp.

There was no magnetic gray... it was mineral gray. And billet is much closer to what that color was. Granite is going to be closer to dark charcoal gray that was offered in years past...

Thanks for the correction. I feel like Billet is right between bright silver and mineral gray.
