Since you will have carpeted mats, I wouldn't worry about the carpets getting dirty. Not matter how dirty the mats get, they clean up in about 5 minutes with some soap and a pressure washer. I do mine a few times a year while washing the car. Of course they take a couple of hours in the sun to drive.

Have fun deciding.
Thanks -- I see your point, and I wouldn't question the brown on any exterior except black... its kind of the black belt, brown shoes argument

I am also considering max steel/indigo... too many choices. I just gotta get my ass to a dealer soon and see all the colors.

Think a pair of black jeans and a brown leather bomber jacket. Works for me!

With summer coming I'd rather think a great tan in a black bikini. Who wouldn't love that combination?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I'd like to throw out this thought. Some of the colors look substantially lighter under direct lighting than they do outside under the diffuse natural light of indirect sunlight or a cloudy day. My guess is that these are metallic paints that reflect white light more readily under man made lighting. So these paints are going to look lighter at night under bright city street lighting. So it will be essentially impossible to pinpoint these colors, as they will change with real world conditions. Just the ramblings of someone with too much time on their hands waiting for their new JGC to be delivered.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Ramble on Jacko, thats OK m8.
At least you North Americans can see daylight for delivery of the beloved MY14 over there.

Take pity on us poor Ozzies Downunder at the end of the earth waiting for ours!!

Talk August/September!!

Problem is the Jeep consortium downunder is not the Jeep Corp themselves, only a distributorship and as such havent got their finger on the pulse in any way shape or form on whats happening.

We're treated like mushrooms down here, kept is the dark and fed heaps of shit!! (Just call us giant Swiss browns)

For example the Jeep/Chrysler/Fiat/Dodge/RAm Oz (whoever they are called this week) website are still advertising the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the 2012 SRT8. No mention of the MY13 or even MY14!!
Check out their website and see what I mean;

Jeep Australia | 4x4, SUV, Off Road, 4WD Vehicles

So Jacko m8, rejoice in the fact at least you can see and touch the MY14 now and even on the verge of delivery.

Woe is us Downunder!

Not at all Tom. It's just a very little rain-x in the fluid and just keeps the dirt and bugs from sticking to the glass.

You are exactly right with your ramble

Most all of the colors have quite a bit of metallic fleck in them that isn't really noticeable until you get really close. Aside from the Brilliant Black, that color looks like a bass boat it is so sparkly!

I like it on most of them, it gives some uniqueness to most of the colors and allows them to vary with nature's mood.

Brown leather dash with beige stitching and frost beige leather seats looks great with brilliant black exterior, I know because I see it every day.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Took delivery of my new Overland four hours ago. It exceeded expectations. Transmission is much more responsive than MY 12. Chevy and Marlon were right about the Indigo blue interior... it is outstanding. I am very pleased with the True Blue ... coordinates with the wheels and interior perfectly. The TFT and 8.4 inch screen will take some getting used to ... so many choices.

Thanks to JNAP members for building me a great vehicle!

In regards to the Black Overland... this is one I'm considering as well. My wife really likes Black -- I'm still torn as I loved Mineral Grey and not too keen on either of the new silvers.

My question -- what do you think the Black would like look with the light frost/brown interior? I am a bit worried the brown dash would clash really bad with the black exterior. Plus the beige floor shows dirt so easily... Maybe it would be better to step down to the limited and get the black/beige? I know Jeep had several Black/Indigo combos at a few of the auto shows -- but again, I think that would clash.

Something about black on black on black on black (etc) just is too much for me. I like the contrast of different ext/int combinations...

let me know your thoughts!
I flew thought about driving though ...

I feel the same way you do regarding the beige interior with the black exterior. I would feel better about that combo if the dash were black rather than "Jeep Brown". There is definitely a lot of black when you have black on black. I too agree the beige is very light as far as dirt etc. If the fold down was black I would consider it more so (dogs) and the one at the auto show was black in the cargo area and the back of the rear seat however I believe this was changed for production. Like I said, I really wish I could have sat in the beige. In general light interiors feel more open and spacious to me.

There's not a chance in hell I'd go indigo. All that being said I think Black interior is still the best bet. Regarding stepping down to the Limited, like I said interior wise it would be similar with the Lux II and obviously you'd have the black dash in the beige. You would save $3k or so as well depending on your options. IMHO I wouldn't like the exterior on the Limited as much. Even though it's only slightly different, I REALLY like how the monochromatic look appears on the Brilliant Black. To each their own though. I have thought about the same things regarding beige on the black however. If I sat in one maybe I'd change my mind but the Jeep Brown dash keeps popping into my mind as not "fitting" and I love the Overland look so I'm kinda "stuck" with Black interior.

On another note ... I really, really don't care for the darker piping on the beige interior on the Overland.
