Just came back from a dealer, snapped couple of photos and videos of the interior. Was trying to decide between Indigo and Light Frost Beige. Indigo is very dark, almost black. Light frost beige is to light. My wife wanted beige but after sitting Indigo than in Beige it took her under 1 minute to say ... "This isn't going to work. We will take Indigo or Black". Carpets are beige/white ... which I think it spells disaster. My current interior is beige as well but it is a little bit more beige cream than frost.

Unforortunatelly, spend some time drooling over Saddle interior in 2013 on the lot ... man I wish I could have that interior in 2014. It would be no brainier. It is a beautiful interior.

You could either figure out where you are going before you leave home, or have your passenger learn how to read a map.

But, I think the third alternative is to use the voice option to input the next address. If I read correctly it is only the touch screen input that is blocked. That's a good thing considering all the accidents caused by texting. And, if you open for the passenger, you open for a dumb driver.

Couple of photos of beige interior. I have shots of Indigo as well but seems like everybody is posting that left and right.

Like I mentioned in other post I was unimpressed with both Indigo and Beige. Picked Indigo... Before you make decision make sure that you take a look. It comes down to preference.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Also was able to test drive V6 Overland today. Was not impressed ... Didn't test drive 2013 but V6 is no speed demon. It gets the job done but like to scream if you go uphill.

Currently own 12 year old truck and acceleration was not that much different. I was expecting a little bit more.

That being said I ordered V6 anyway ... Don't want to feed the HEMI at the gas station, diesel would be perfect for me but not with this price tag and don't want to deal will all the emission crap down the line. Planning to keep the truck until wheels fall off.

If you have $$$ go for V8. If you have $$$ and courage go for diesel.

8 speed tranny was silky smooth... Electronic shifter will take some time to get used to. The feel is very detached, awkward. Also not a big fan of the look. I would rather have a dial like in Dodge RAM.

Really nice looking, but no way that light color carpet would work for us. Too bad they didn't make it a nice matching dark brown berber carpet.

I think the chocolate brown will go the distance in style and likability.

The saddle? I'm not so sure. I can see that getting dated a couple years down the road.

I'd take that beige over "dark" any day...

You were unimpressed with the indigo and the beige? Why didn't you just pick black??

By the way -- feel free to post the indigo pics as well -- the more the better! You said it was dark, almost black, but from the last pics posted it looked almost too light for me -- i would prefer it to be almost black.

Test drove a 2014 Limited today with a V6. Eco mode is not on by default. If you turn it off, it stays off.

I was pleasantly surprised by the V6 and the 8 speed transmission when in sport mode. Not so much with when just in D, and not at all in Eco mode; I expect I'll never use Eco, and will routinely use sport. I'm glad they moved sport to the shift lever.

When I asked at the dealership, the salesman said 2014s are not out yet. I said that's funny; your web site shows you have two in stock. After consulting with the manager, the salesman admitted they were hiding (his words) the 2014s while they tried to sell their inventory of 2013s. They only had Limiteds; no Overlands.

All said and done, I really like this vehicle and can't wait for mine to get built and delivered.

That's too funny. When I went to test drive an Overland the dealer pulled up in a 2013. When I told him it wasn't a 2014 model he was "shocked".

Unfortunately they won't let people test drive the 14s here until they get more in. They say Chrysler still owns them. I can understand if they are on the showroom floor. Reminds me when I test drove an SSR about 6 years ago. They took it off the showroom floor and put a big scratch down it when driving it out the door. I felt bad but didn't purchase that vehicle.

I called a dealer on Friday and finally got a salesman to say they got one in. He was going to call me and let me know what trim it had on it. I showed up at the dealer before getting a call back. Got mixed up if I asked talked to Kevin or Keith and asked for the opposite one. Was told they were over at there used car lot getting PDI. I found 3 of them and none were prepped and all were limited. I am looking for overland. Ended up educating salesman. Talked to manager when we got back and things went smoothly. Will probably order one on Tuesday, but still torn on HEMI vs CRD.
