The Jeep website lists the Summit as having the open grain (NOT glossy) wood finish as an upgrade over the Overland. One of 4 upgrades they show.

I think only the black on the Overland has the gloss finish on the wood.

The high gloss reminds me of the fake wood on my MDX. I've mentioned before that on my first stop a dealer last year I was told the trim on an Overland was fake black wood ... and it looked it.

Some of us can tell real wood from fake wood no matter how much gloss it has on it.

That's funny.

Having a different gray on the wheels is not such a big deal because the different shades of gray don't "touch" each other as close as the body panels do on the Summit.

Hopefully, the lower body panels on the Summit aren't mineral gray. Based on the video, I wasn't able to tell a difference to the rest of the paint - but it's hard to see.

I totally agree. Compared to the red, it sucks up a lot of the chrome-effect..

Oh, I just noticed Milous' post. That doesn't look like the lower gray body panels are going to match the rest:

Seems in the video that the wood on this Limited is open pore.

Open Pore/Open Grain provides a more natural texture for the wood species they are using. The finish CAN still be glossy...whether or not it is or isn't I can't say since I haven't seen a MY14 "live" yet.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Here's a question for those here in the know. I haven't been able to find cargo area dimensions for the WK2. I did find these for the WK. I haul a lot of stuff, and would like to know if the dimensions are similar, or very different? Any help with this?

Neither of those sites give the cargo dimensions. wk2jeeps only gives volume as far as I can find. The space looks quite different in the upgraded wk2. Of course the interior trim might just make it look different and the dimensions may very well be similar.

Those pics show two completely different storage areas and shapes. I take it the MY14 is the one on the right. If they are MY14 & MY13 comparisons the difference appears quite substantial which surprises me that there has not been comment on this fact. We knew the tail gate had been modified but had no idea this was the impact on the rear opening.
