Incorrect.

I said it once, I'll say it again, in my own, tortuous way of course. ;)

Just saw my first 2014 here on my lot tonight. the headlights are really cool. The front passenger has a little willys jeep in it, like the new Wrangler sahara wheel. The drivers side says "since 1941". Interior is great, the TFT display is nicer than the Darts and the Rams. Two features I liked were the ability to see steering angle on the display and also the individual wheel articulation.

I guess the select speed is for crawling- up hill and down hill.

the one here was a Summit and had the rear entertainment system.

The guy here wouldn't let me take pics. I actually did take some but got caught and was told to delete them or they wouldn't do business here.

Dash was awesome, the new style steering wheel is nice as well.

Most likely all of this you all already know but I was too excited not to post something!

Thanks a lot for this post really interesting!

When you say TFT you mean the one between the gauges right? Can you describe the integration a bit more? What about the resolution?

Does the steering wheel still have the wooden upper part?

I went to my local dealer today to see if they were dealing on 2013 and what they knew about the 2014.
They acted like they know nothing about the 2014 coming soon, and said diesel not expected in US. I did not push the issue and moved on to what was on the lot.
They only had a couple of 2013, both Laredo X with V8. Supposedly they have 40 GC's delayed due to the snow storms, hence the low inventory. The good news for Jeep it seems these things are still selling well and the buyer is not in the driver's seat, at least in Reno.

LOL.

Typical dealer.

They didn't act like they didn't know anything.

They truly didn't know anything.

Thanks for trying to get some Pictures Pat. How wouldn't they do business with you is what is getting me. Was it a demo from Chrysler?

What did you think of the "Wings" under the headlights? Is the grille and that piece 1?

Couldn't tell due to the vinyl wrap.
This one still had the plastic black pieces under the headlights. Looked kinda cheap to me.

the guy is a design guy and wouldn't let me get pics, but was all excited to show us the Jeep and the TFT display. I told him it was wrong to show up looking at Jeeps to buy with this thing and not expect someone to want pics. He got all crappy about it. Tried to explain there are already pics online, but he was adamant. I then explained thats the issue with Chrysler. Don't tell the dealers anything, make them get the info from forums and elsewhere online and then expect them to know all about the product. Makes no sense, but that's kinda why I think I'm destined to leave Jeep this year. Corporate doesn't want us lowly salespeople having too much info and when we request info no one gets back to us. Yet they want us to know the product and be professionals. Oh well sorry for the rant.

A grille is totally different from "SINCE 1941" and a Military Jeep that is pictured on its side, so no.

#4,642 ·
terrible design...I would much rather have the "painted, little box like" protrusion that the previous gen's export bumpers had. If I get one....maybe I can have it paint matched. Mustve been an after thought.....

#4,643 ·
and to clarify...I was TOLD it had a "willys jeep" on the highbeam reflector thingy.....I was wrong to assume it was the same as the 11-13'

This may be insider info or I missed something as I only joined this year but I'm wondering how there is different info released about the same thing at times. I know that Milous and Marlon & Chevyboy work at the plant and see things first hand but other people have given tidbits and information that sometimes are spot-on but sometimes conflicting with what those on the inside have said. The above post is just one example of this (not to pick on or single out Scottina at all it's just that's the most recent one and I've been wondering about this for some time).

I guess all I'm saying is it's confusing and I have no idea where these others are getting their insider info if they don't work at or for Chrysler.
There's gotta be a mole somewhere, right?;)

Im very interested in the 2014's, trying to decide if I should wait for a 14 Overland or get a 2012 SRT 8 Used. Any word on weather or not the Hemi 14's will have the 8spd? Im thinking once the banks open for orders and we get the detailed option info, I can make a sound decision +) Thanks guys

Pat,

thanks in advance for trying to restore the pictures... would be very cool, if it works.

Another question about that car... do you remember about the part between the seats... is it still the same cheap plastic or sweet real brushed Aluminium?

Thanks,

Gigi
According to the pdf you posted I'm pretty sure that at least the plastic is a better quality. In addition if you look at the Pictures in the pdf you can get the Impression (despite of the poor quality) that the silver parts are gone. Although I did not think that they were to bad.

The "since 1941" emblem thingy has me thinking out loud here....The 75th anniversary will be in 2016 model year which means it should come out in 2015 (only 2 years away). This also is 1 year before the next model re-do in 2016 (MY 2017).

I know this is the 2014 thread but what unique things have they done for prior "anniversary" years such as the 65th and so on?

#4,671 ·
Look up on google the 65th anniversary and then the 70th... the 70th was hot but I didn't know I liked the new body style yet  I now love the olive color interior it had but I wanted brand new when I bought mine and I wasn't doing used. Anyway the 70th is purty in the Bronze star pearl and Silver grrrrowl!

I don't understand why Jeep doesn't make a Grand Cherokee that is fully loaded (in appearance and tech) but without chrome and wood, unless you go to the SRT, but that is really expensive and not everyone needs that much power. Also, they don't even offer Black. Brilliant Black is not black. C'mon Fiat/Chrysler/Jeep, get with it.

Agreed. I've been saying that for years. Really not a fan of the wood and never have been and I'm on my 3rd Jeep.

Reading dreadful owner experiences with the GC leather quality, mainly in posts regarding 2011 - mid 2012 GCs up to Summit level. Seat covers having had to be replaced after just a few thousand miles because of fading & cracking. Seems to be/have been a widespread problem with a badly processed leather or just a cheap leather quality.

Was quite shocked to read this after I had just recently raised the leather issue ("Natura Plus Leather"?) in an earlier post.

Any positive/negative owner experiences with the MY 2013 leather seats?

I made a reservation for a MY2014 Summit but I will need to see some positive information/feedback from owners/dealer/Jeep/Chrysler about the leather quality before I would execute an order.

Problems read seem to point to short-sighted cost-saving, and should not happen with a >$85k car (EU export model).

Chrysler seems to have replaced the seat covers under warranty, which seems to indicate it had become a known issue in 2011/2012 and that Chrysler should have taken countermeasures (better quality, other vendor) by now.

Waiting for our experts and interested owners to comment. May be not the most important issue but seats are a dominant visual object in a car's interior.

Guennik - then you might be best to make an actual thread about this instead trying to get people to answer in this thread. People who have a 2013 might not read this or want to read all the posts. You have to think that not everyone who has the leather has or had this issue. How many Jeeps are out there with this Leather that don't have a problem don't go out and post about it.

FWIW - I currently have an '11 Acura and belong to a forum dedicated to the MDX. There were a number of complaints about leather on the MDX. The difference seems to be that the dealers had to fight with Acura to get replacement under warranty.

When I traded an '07 Liberty Limited, the used car manager said he couldn't believe how good the leather looked on a 4 year old vehicle.

I guess not all cows are created equal, not even from the same herd. :)
