5-10 weeks would be a guess. If you become a site supporter (lvl 3 or higher), you can have Milous track it for you and then you would be given an ETA on delivery.

Good question. I'm not sure it's greed, but, what scares me with the 2014 is that the 14 Limited is kind of like the old Laredo. You have to buy Lux II to make the 14 Limited equivalent to the old Limited. This results in a pretty big jump in price.

The old Laredo was the bread and butter GC. The sales of so many Laredos allowed Jeep to build higher content models at reasonable prices. Now, it looks like there may be fewer Laredos built; meaning fewer bread and butter cars to shoulder the build costs. This results in higher prices for the other models, something we're definitely seeing with the 14's. While a Jeep is always sufficiently different from competitors to be attractive, the previously attractive prices are no longer so attractive.

You have to remember that the 14 Limited is last years Laredo X model. Limited with Lux would be like last yrs Limited. Yes the cost is a little higher but you getting different (better?) options plus the 8spd.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4x4 5.7L V8 Hemi QDII standard MSRP $44,990 http://www.chrysler.com/hostd/window...RR6GT0BC606426.

Same build for a 2014 with no CD player (and no flipper glass) is $49,980

$5,000 increase for basically the same vehicle just 2 1/2 years later.

And the Invoice price is an even bigger difference, because the 2014 Invoice is closer to MSRP.

Right, but you still get a transmission, and nav unit, headlights and tail lights in a 2011.

Isn't that only about 4% a year?

On a 40 - 50, 000 dollar vehicle it might sound like a lot, but it's not.

True, but the investment to design those has long paid off which is why they can sell them cheaper. The 8 Speed is new for Chrysler and they have to train all employees how to assemble these and they are also building a new facility to be able to build these which needs to be paid for. The new headlights and taillights require new molds from the suppliers which also costs money that needs to be recovered. I'm sure prices will slowly drop over the next model years as they recoup the invested money to initially start these design changes.

Don't hold your breath! But, I'm not complaining, this is how capitalism works, build a better mousetrap and people will be knocking down the door to buy it. In my marketing studies I learned cost is a baseline consideration. "What the market will bear", is actually much closer to true pricing formulation.
