Certainly does ruin the look of the front end.

If you guys hadnt of mentioned the front plate I wouldnt have even noticed it was on there! Obviously when its basically required to have front plates here its all you know - cars look strange without them!

Our plates are alot more streamlined then the one on that photo so I believe it wont look too bad. I guess its really what your used too.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

In the us the front plate requirement is state by state; I think better than half require it.

A lot of people choose to run without even in states that require it and generally, you can get away with it most of the time. Personally, I live in a state that requires a front plate and I'd rather not give the coppers an excuse to razz me.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Hello.. i am still looking at getting a new GC.. just have a quick question on a option.. 8.4A and 8.4AN are the same exact AN is already activated nav? I have been searching and can't seem to find a clear answer on that..

Also.. i had driving a 2014 v6 limited and found the motor very lacking (which was odd, i drove it in a truck and it was amazing) has anyone else found the same? Thinking of going V8 as i dont put many miles on and milage isn't a huge issue..

The 8.4AN (RA4) does have the navigation enabled already. The RA3 does not and would cost about $600 at the dealer to enable.

Might have been because the Eco mode was on, this has been reported many others as well.

Ahhh thank you.. yeah i drove what was basically the truck of the year model with the V6 and it was just amazing, totally blew me away.. with the jeep i had to stand on the gas to get the thing to move, was horrible..

And thanks.. so 8.4A and AN are the same other than nav not enabled on the A.. clears it up thanks much

P.S. This also begs the question.. if the great MPG is in eco mode which means you can't get the thing to get moving decently.. is there really much savings over the V8 in milage? im mostly a around town driver anyway.. so highway isn't as much an issue as much as being able to leave a stop light and no feel like im in a 78 chevette and having to floor it non stop.. (and yes it was that bad)

Also, the nav in the ra3 would not have all the features.

The ra3 also lacks HD radio.

Note: The dealer activated navigation does not include Sensor-assisted GPS or 3D features.
Note: There are no visible differences between the RA3 and RA4 with the unit turned off. However, on vehicles sold in the US, the RA4 offers high definition radio and can be identified by the HD symbol located on the screen when the radio, is in radio mode. If the radio will not power up then the only way to identify the system is direct VIN inquiry through a dealer.

That's NOT the only difference... Take a look at this:

Uconnect® | Find the right Uconnect system for your Chrysler Vehicle

Not sure this matches up exactly with the 2014 model in the JGC but should help.

Edit... Here we go... this is the right one:

http://www.driveuconnect.com/system/jeep/?year=2014

Edit again... Bill beat me to it. I blame being slow on it being a Monday.
