I've really been impressed with the Bridgestone Revo AT and AT2. I ran them on our WJ, and now the wive's RDX. This is after trying a bunch of different tires on the WJ.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Hi Everyone I picked up my 14 Summit a few days ago and I was looking under it today and noticed that there appeared to be a panel missing from the underside in the front. This is the area where the oil drain plug and oil filter are located. This opening looks like it is made for an insert panel to cover that area. Has anyone else noticed this and should there be a cover panel in this spot or is it just intentionally left open like this? Appreciate if anyone else could check out what theirs looks like. Thanks!

Mine looks like your photos as well. So I am guessing they might have skid plate that could fit there. It is kind of strange how it looks like it is missing a cover.

I just took a look under my Jeep w/OR II. I have skid plates, but nothing there.

It sure would be nice to have that closed up to keep beach sand from kicking up in there.

I wonder if they let a bunch of cars out the door without them by mistake, or decided to save fifty cents a vehicle.

Agree that's what I thought too, seems strange to have a shroud around everything under there and then just leave a hole there to fill mud, sand and whatever else. Especially when it appears to have been designed for a cover.

Yes wonder if a bunch got out the door without them for some reason. If that is the way it is supposed to be then fine that's how it is but if its something someone just forgot to put on Id like to get it on there.

Sno I have not asked dealer yet they would probably tell me to drop it off and service will look at it and I don't want to go there yet. There is a dealer 2 or 3 miles from where I live not where I bought it so may just take a ride over there tomorrow and look at what they have on the lot if they are all like that I guess that is just how it is, weird as it may seem.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I let Google look around and found that this was a topic of conversation back in 2011 regarding the my12's. Someone mentioned that you can order the part for $35 at the parts counter.

So much for all the protection that is required to be trail rated. Jeep builds a decent vehicle, but sure finds ways to disappoint.

I mentioned it on this board about 3 weeks ago that my 2014 Summit V8 doesn't have that hole in the belly pan. But my 2012 Overland V8 did have it.

Ya that doesn't make much sense..from that picture it looks like that guard is plastic, I hope I'm wrong.

Sorry to say, but you are correct. The shield behind it on mine is steel, but the one pictured is just a dirt shield.
