That's correct. I'll try and get a photo.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Just to add to the database, my just delivered V8 Summit (built mid-March) has the opening.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Concerning the missing access panel below is what I received back from the service department of a Jeep dealer I emailed. Seems strange to me that they say it is no longer needed. May not be needed driving down the highway but when I am driving across the beach this summer I can see that area filling up with sand. Probably be better to have no shroud down there at all instead of a gapping hole to collect and hold sand mud and whatever else. Guess its someone's way of saving 50 cents. maybe the answer is to get the part number and order it from a 12 or 13 model year.

"After researching this I have found a note in the parts catalog that says the access door is no longer needed and no longer service by Jeep. Some of the early built Grand Cherokees had a door but the ones being built now do not. If I ordered a complete panel it would come with out the door. If there is anything else I can do for you just let me know."

Has anyone else noticed this and should there be a cover panel in this spot or is it just intentionally left open like this? Appreciate if anyone else could check out what theirs looks like. Thanks!

For what its worth, I have a V6 Overland w/out skid plates. The panel is on mine to cover the opening.

That's sad... So there is no part number even if we wanted one?

Don't know, wonder if you could order it from an earlier model year? I would like to if I could find part number

Or how about snow & salt combo here in the north...this seems like penny pinching extreme and that is not how I expect Jeep to claw it's was up the class ladder.
