But ordering as soon as the banks open will be your best shot at getting one within days of them hitting the lots.

For example; when the order banks for '13s opened, you could probably get your car within a week from the time you first see one on your dealers lot. But NOW, being 40,000+ cars behind on orders (<<< we'll never catch up), you'd be lucky to see it before Thanksgiving. And many who order one even before the banks close, will be given a call saying their 13' order is cancelled and will be offered priority on a '14 (for more money of course). It's been like this the past few years. Last year I believe that number got as high as 100k cars, which sounds like a good problem to have, and is for us that work the OT, but from a customer standpoint, I'd imagine it can be annoying.
I have to say I'm a little concerned about being behind at least 40,000 even if ordering at MY lauch! While I'm a little concerned about ordering without seeing, and driving, despite comments in this thread saying the cabin's almost identical, I'm still likely to order a CRD near lauch if I can be given a (true) date for delivery that doesn't require another 4-6+ months wait! I'd also love to know pricing for the Aus market for the '14 CRD- that's still pretty important to know!

No matter who he is - I'm sure that his information provided on this forum didn't cost Chrysler/Jeep a single sale - even though it's all "confidential".

Actually, they should be quite happy that somebody is devoting his spare-time to promote their vehicles. Too bad they can't compensate Milous for his efforts - or can they?

Nah, just kiddin'!

I remember a while back a bunch of pessimists that we work with were talking about how we were getting laid off because they only sold XX,XXX but we built XX,XXX that month.

Idiots. I asked "Did you think about Canada? How about Mexico? Japan? CHINA? GCC and the rest of the Arab nations? (Durango is REALLY popular there) Russia? AUSTRALIA????? Pay attention to your track sheets, then come back and talk to me."

Heh.

We've been anywhere from 40-130,000 orders behind from the launch of the WK/WD, meaning April 2010. The number goes up and down. I don't even want to know how bad it would be if we built that other cancelled "W" vehicle.

It's nothing unusual, actually quite normal. Everything is OK.

They currently have like 3000+ employees, but will be hiring 1100 or so more new employees to start in January.

I guess the number of 40,000 would be even higher now without the introduction of the facelift.
You're right.. As for the current orders, I agree, but I can't say that that number would be too much higher if there wasn't a mid-cycle refresh going on. Many ppl ON HERE are waiting it out, but you gotta remember, most of the world doesn't know anything abt the coming upgrades. I'd attribute the defecit from 100k to 40k unfilled orders to the lack of noticeable changes on the '13s, and the line running like a raped ape for the last 6+ months. But I do suspect this time next year we'll be back up around 100k orders even with them adding a 3rd shift at the end of this month. It's that nice!

Oh, yes, I can def. see that happening. That's the point in time when the "insider-info" of this board which is keeping a few from ordering now has turned into a high demand when the public actually sees the MY14 on the road.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I would guess that Milous works for the marking department of Jeep, I don't think that Jeep would not want to control such information and would not stop him from doing this. And I think they could. Even if what he does is in their best interest. I think he does all this because Jeep wants him to. If he does not work for the marketing department he should get an extra bonus, the way he creates Jeep addicts is just great . I did plan to get a GC but now I don't even consider anything else .

But who cares whether he does this as part of his job or "privately" (with the blessing of Jeep) it's just great for all of us desperate for such information. Thanks Milous

p.s. I think it is very professional for a Company to support their customer community in such a way. Jeep seems to be up to speed in this regard. Fits into my picture of the company.

p.p.s. And to all of you who work for Jeep and build these things. Thanks. There are many people out there who really appreciate your products, I'm one of them!

I am sure it is within the 1100 posts here... But to make it simple the WK Supercharged has not been announced as of yet...
