Everybody's needs and desires are different. My Summit gives me a "luxury" vehicle that I can enjoy during all my business travel and also can handle my towing needs better than other options I might have considered, including in the highway fuel economy department. And I like how it looks. A lot. But the next dude will hate the color and the chrome...which is kewel. That's why there are great choices when buying and nice customization ability post-purchase. :)

On the Overland I would rather have a chrome strip instead of individual letters for the GRAND CHEROKEE on the sides. Body colored mirrors for sure. I currently have chrome door handles, but on a white car, so they don't really stand out. I'll see soon enough how they look on Maximum Steel.

The Overland kind of looks like somebody said, where can we stick a little chrome.

On the other hand, if it was a Jeep with lots of chrome, like it was built with chrome in mind, that would be great. If ORA II was available on a Summit, my order would be for a Summit in Deep Cherry / Black.

Maybe next time they will configure a car the way I want it.

Not bad.. Slow, but steady. Yesterday was actually the first day we finished out the whole shift (on this side) in over a week. But today its running a lil slower, and they're back to talking about sending us home. And from what I hear, Dayshift left early too.. So we'll see..

Yesterday they moved a bunch of cars to over here by me, and I'm nowhere near Assembly. I walked outside on a break and saw about 100 of em outside my door. This could be a good or bad sign.. Sometimes they're cars that need to be repaired, other times its because of containment. But as long as production doesn't stop completely again, we're moving in the right direction.

Would be even better if with the Lux II.. quite a few people waiting on here for it.

wow, that was a lot of pages to read. i'm leaning towards a overland or summit diesel, but i want to drive one before i rule out the hemi. i thought i was going to buy a new ram, but my jeep roots are coming back and they've made some good changes.

Probably be infinitely easier to change the mesh behind the grille...if your talking about the black plastic underneath the headlights you have a choice functional washers or filler plastic...or a Laredo

Think Outside !- No Box Required.
or Limited without LuxII gets you projector halogen headlights without the filler piece. Limited also has vertical slits, not honeycomb mesh behind the grille.

Thanks.

The 2014 GC is a Harman Kardon nav system. Is the Ram Garmin or HK? It may make a difference. But then again, Jeep may dictate the whole interface because of their need to run all the devices.

I saw the new Grand Cherokee at the North American International Auto Show. Now I can't decide if I should order a V-6 or diesel!

Route 66 m8,

Here in Orstraylya, thats a no brainer. We've had the diesel for some time now and the diesel leaves the petrol/gas for dead.
Have a look at the figures, you know it makes sense!!

The diesel has more torque than the V8.

The numbers here downunder definitely favour the diesel by a big margin.

Glad youre catching on with what we know, Route 66.

Mine wont arrive till about June, damn it. Why are we so far away?

Hang on!! Why are you so far away from us then??

Bluey

What are the advantages of having Navigation with the RA4 as opposed to just getting the RA3 without navigation, and having one of my various portable electronic devices tell me how to get to my destination? Cell phones have great navigation software, and are much more readily updated. Just trying to figure out if it's really needed to reside on the vehicle.

#9,808 ·
Aye, I've seen the differences between RA3 and RA4, I just don't get why resident navigation in the vehicle is necessary. I guess if you don't have a smartphone you would need it. Maybe it's just because I've never used it. I'll probably get the RA4 anyway, for the HD radio and more flash memory, but was just curious about why I would prefer navigation from the radio rather than Siri. I find her voice comforting. :)

#9,810 ·
I wonder if there is going to be an option to do the lifetime updates on the RA4 for the maps or what the price would be to do the updates.

#9,811 ·
Last time I checked it was pretty spendy to update. I'm going to say $299 or something like that.
