Yea, I couldn't see it on mine either at work the other day.. I'll try to pull it up on my girl's laptop when I can.. Right now all I have is an iPhone and iPad. Unlike most of the techy's here, I have no use for a computer.

I just need to see if it mounts to the front rails, or the bumper reinforcement. Or sumn else.. I'll let you know tomorrow. (I'm off today.)

IWANTANOTHERJEEP, going by the pictures in the installation instructions it looks like those holes you are talking about is actually in the steel bumper reinforcement. If those holes are not present in the Australian version then it would be easy to drill the holes in the bumper reo to accept the recovery hook spacer bracket bolts.

Can item D (tow hook bracket) be bolted to the chassis rails with item C (16mm flange bolt)? If so then i would expect that all is needed is to drill out the holes in the bumper reo to be able to fit the Mopar recovery hooks.

G'day Zillajnr,

Yeah there is no problem fitting the tow hook brackets at all. The front end is modified and the Aussies got the European front end in the 12-13 and I was hoping that the uproar it had created by not having or being able to install tow hooks would see them revert to the US front end like we got in '11. Unfortunately it looks like we got the modified front end again. :(

After doing more research into this, I'm not sure we have the same part(the bumper reinforcement ) in that location to drill out. It is such a shame because everything else is first class about this truck. These tow hooks would be the icing on the cake for me.

I just noticed that the 2014 Cherokee includes "Stop & Go" in it's Technology option. Any mention within Chrysler / Jeep if that feature will be an upgrade to existing 2014 Grand Cherokees with the Adv Tech Grp?

The newer 2014 grand Cherokees quietly started rolling off the assembly line with the Stop & Go feature at the end of July per Milous. According to Scott, no it is not upgradeable to any of us with the old ancient one or two month old 2014 Grand Cherokees and several of us are not happy about that :(

Everyone, think of a conversation that we were having in this thread a few months back. Now, look at the first engine option listed for the 2014 JGC on the Mopar website (I have attached a screenshot of this below). Looks like Milous was (unsurprisingly, but impressive nonetheless) right on the money!

according to the Jeep website Quadratrac 2 is an option for the laredo and laredo e.

While building a laredo there seems to be no option to get it to Q2.

Is Q2 available for a plain Laredo? reason being the sport mode.
Quadratrac 2 is available on Laredo E if option package "All-weather Package" or option package "Off Road Adventure I Group" is chosen.

All-weather Package (Laredo E)

Cargo liner
Daytime running lamps
Engine block heater
Heated seats
Heated steering wheel
Mopar slush mats
Remote start
Selec-Terrain
Tow hooks
Two-speed transfer case with low-range

Off-road Adventure I Group (Laredo E)

Full-size spare tire
Hill-descent Control
P245/70R17 OWL on/off road tires (Laredo E only)
Selec-Terrain system
Skid plate group
Steel spare wheel
Trail Rated badge
Two-speed on-demand transfer case

Man haven't been in here for awhile and can't believe how big this thread continues to grow. Any word on the rearseat dvd? I thought they were supposed to be out in July/August, but now I'm seeing September. Any word on if it can be added or will it only work on the "newer" models/factory install?

Question to Milous and allthe other geeks:D:

Since I might be able to pull the trigger on my WK2 a bit earlier than planned:

Do we already know when the MY switch from '14 to '15 next year will occur and up to what time the MY14 (and from when on, MY15) can be ordered?

I'm thinking about taking delivery in May - so ordering would be March, right? I guess MY15 won't be out by then..

Thanks!

It will not.. You probably won't see '15s available until next August. (Ordering obviously in June or July.)

I am guessing any day now that mine just rolled off the assembly line. Oh well.:lol::lol:

^^ harsh but true.

Not as bad as the first gen collision avoidance system Volvo introduced a few years back, which consisted of a series of red warning lights on the dash... I always thought to myself, why not just look out the window?

VIN#s

Hi All - In an effort to perhaps sway me from purchasing the vehicle I test drove, I was wondering if there is a way to find out the build date on a JGC using the VIN#? I was otherwise going to factory order but obviously, if a properly functioning JGC is on the dealer lot now, why wait? (And suffer with MOTS lol)

I took a test drive of the JGC with the wife today along with other S/CUVs that could potentially sway me away (CX5/CX9/Traverse/Equinox). Anyway, the JGC Limited LuxII/RA4 I test drove today "functioned" mechanically in my short test drive (PM Rush hour starting) and when parked back at the dealer, it appeared that the remote start and the 2x remote hatch worked perfectly.

By the way, the WHITE with BEIGE interior won us over that I am asking this about the VIN#s!

If that's the one you want then why order one?
