Good point. When I originally said that I was thinking of Bob Frederick with Challengers. But he transported from his dealer ship to private individuals via his own enclosed trailer.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

I was looking on line and there is a Fields Jeep in Sanford, Fl. Is this part of the same company as Pat's and can I take a delivery from there if it is? Thanks

Yes. There is a link to the Fl location on his IL site.

Is there a way to get HIDs on a limited without doing the luxury group? If not, can you get the luxury group with a sunroof delete? Thanks

Check out post one in this thread, including the PDFs at the bottom. They will probably answer all your questions about options and standard equipment.

No and no I think. Just add OEM HID's if they are a must have

No, you can't get the HiD headlights without Lux II. As for sunroof, you might be you would lose value on the vehicle when it would come time to sell it.

So you are getting more then just the dash.

I really want the Diesel due to range and towing, but Im wondering if I would just be better off with the V8 since i change cars every 2-3 years. It might not be worth the extra $2,000 ..... plus Im curious to the resale value on it.
Power retractable side mirrors
Dimming passenger side mirror
Rear seat ambient lighting
Puddle lamps (on bottom of exterior mirrors)
Quadra Lift standard
Wood steering wheel
Higher quality wood and leather

Here, the Diesels generally demand a premium price. Jetta TDI's and their Audi cousins are often priced a few $k over their KBB values for example.

It's gotten better as more and more of the little VW diesels hit the roads here, but, used, they are still pretty pricey compared to the petrol ones.

The Diesel Jeeps (if you can find one) are hideously pricey in the used market. Last time I looked, a 2 year old used CRD here was almost as much as a new petrol version (was a couple years ago).
I'm not talking private sales - I sold my 2005 TDI for about $4k more than KBB in 2 days via Craigslist (we RTP people love our alternative fuel vehicles!). It's the trade value you'd get from a dealer. It's pathetic. I was offered $8k. Like I said, I sold it in 2 days for $13k.

Anyway, I'm seriously thinking about a CRD. I know it's more expensive but I love driving a diesel. But my point is more to the lease question and residuals. When I can find residual info, the diesels are always lower than gasser siblings. The US just doesn't like diesel right now.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Does anyone know what dealers are charging for "dealer prep" or "Doc Fee". A.K.A. additional dealer markup. My local dealer charges $599. I am selling my old car to CarMax to assure I know what kind of deal I am getting. If a dealer offers 2% below invoice but has a $1,899 dealer prep charge and gives you $2,000 less what your trade-in is worth, then you are paying full retail. I want to have all my numbers crunched when I go in to make the deal.
