Well ... it is going probably be an option to remove the plastic filler on 50K Overland for only additional 1K ($500 if you buy diesel).

Seriously ... I wish they would at least give you an option to get headlights washers or just remove it completely. Sorry ... just don't understand how something like this slipped through the cracks on almost 50K vehicle.

OR maybe they should just take those things out completely, leave holes and call them "headlight micro scoops" just like SRT8 has on the hood but smaller. Call it a feature ...

Yes. Nowhere near the sort of stuff I do with my current ride, but yes. If I wasn't planning on offroading I'd be at my local Audi dealer. However, it doesn't take serious offroad driving to make skids a good idea. There's a lot of stuff under there for an errant stick or rock to get hung up on, so I think they're a good idea if you do any sort of offroad driving beyond dirt roads.

Then again, I don't get the whole non-offroad Jeep thing. The Summit interior and tech is nice but the rest doesn't make sense to me. And don't even get me started on the SRT. Drag Jeep? Were it me, I'd have gone the baja route. So possibly I'm not the best person to listen to.

Maybe Jeep liked the black tape from the spy pictures and are creating a "Black Tape Group" package...

I think I'm with you on this. If I could, I would just get the Laredo, but I cant get some of the options like trailer tow, RA3 radio, and OF 1 without the E package, or that's what I think. I have never had a vehicle with power seats, nor care about it. After all, looking at my tundra now, its just a bunch of beach towels covering the back seat and passenger seat so the dogs and gear don't stain the seats. That'll be the first thing I do to the new GC. Without a doubt it would be the nicest vehicle I ever owned even in just Laredo trim.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

I've been pondering color choices and flip-flopping between an overland crd and a limited lux crd with tech package. I really like the overland's interior, but the limited (as currently priced) appears to be the better value (to me) when optioned up. Hope the pricing goes down on the Overland (need about $2k to pay cash)

The website that has the best "real world" pics of the MY 13 exterior/interior colors I've found is here: 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Colors | GTcarlot.com - Car Color Galleries

I really like the Black, the green, and the maximum steel exterior colors; and, the light frost interior colors on both the limited and overlands.

Other than the Jeep Brown dash, does the carpet color change on the overland with the light frost interior? In the pics on the first page in the thread, its hard to tell.

With the new transmission, new dash electronics, and the extra air valves, sensors and bags of Quadra-Lift, do many of you plan to buy extended warranties?

Not initially. It's been a while since I've kept a car past its warranty. That's mostly because I haven't had one that really thrilled me. If this turns out to be 'the one', then I'll consider it. When I had cars that I kept a long time I always did all my own repairs. Today's cars are way beyond me.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

I hope Jeep wasn't trying to use the same batteries that Boeing put in the 787. If that's the case, our 2014s might not launch until 2016.

Milous, Chevy, Marlon... Any update on production? Milous said they haven't built any for retail. Problems?
