I was looking at this too and hope it just needs some clarification... Please Milous?
All of the American models start with the 3.6L as base (other then the SRT), but the Summit and Overland Canadian models start with the 5.7L as the base, and you subtract $2,150 to get the 3.6L.
3.0L V6 TURBO DIESEL ENGINE (EXF) + 8-SPD AUTO 8HP70 TRANS (DFD) 22P (Late Availabilty) [MSRP $4,995 / INV. $ 4,346]
3.6L V6 VVT ENGINE (ERB) + 8-SPD AUTO 845RE TRANS (DFL) 23P [MSRP -$2,150 / INV. -$ 1,871]
5.7L V8 MDS VVT ENGINE (EZH) + 8-SPD AUTO 8HP70 TRANS (DFD) 27P (Standard)
Is the 3.0 Diesel (hopefully...) 'just' $4,995 over the 3.6L and $2,845 over the 5.7L?
The base prices for the different trim levels is ridiculously higher in Canada, but I understand they have different standard options and packages which would make them a chore to compare directly.... However, the SRT is the exact same price (apart from destination), which seems ludicrous when compared to the $7,500-$11k differences in other trim levels. Heck, the invoice price is more then $1500 LOWER for the SRT in Canada!
It just doesn't add up that the Diesel option would essentially be a $7,145 upgrade over the gas V6... Unless they desperately don't want to sell any in Canada.
