Looks too light to be granite but I didn't think they had ran Billet yet . Being that it's a pre-production model I'm uncertain.

F1anatic, thanks for the pics. Is that first one black, maximum steel, or granite? Can't quite tell. The metallic looks good though.

Steering wheel is kinda busy but most loaded vehicles today have more buttons than you count. At least there's room to grip the rim.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Really enjoy this forum. Was pretty excited about new Jeep until I saw Canada pricing. Maybe sales up here are sparked by rebates. Start high offer incentive to appear to be huge saving. Markets are different from area to area. I sure hope so or when my order arrives I will be walking away. Somewhere between zero and no chance of me paying that much for a jeep. Maybe inport one from the US. The only real way we can complain is with our wallets. If sales are poor up here prices will come in line with the US. If we keep buying the message that gets sent if that the price is okay. Well it isnt.

I still don't like that flat black plastic around the radio and hvac and on the buttons in the center stack. Wish Jeep would go with piano glossy black, it would complete the upscale look on the premium trim levels.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

If I buy a Grand Cherokee, it looks as if I'd want an Overland Diesel with rear wheel drive and no options. The Indigo Blue & Brown interior looks especially nice, probably with a white exterior (it is sunny in southern California). I see from reading this entire thread that it should not be difficult to get it for $49,000 out the door (8% sales tax, license). The major features it would have not on my Explorer are:

- diesel (saves $3,800 per year vs Explorer at current Calif. prices)
- sunroof - OK as long as I fit
- headlight leveling
- automatic high beams
- heated, dimming exterior mirrors - would much appreciate them
- rain-sensing wipers - handy feature on our Mercedes-Benz
- 115V outlet
- seat & mirror memory - useful when take for service
- heated seats
- 4-way lumbar
- ventilated seats - probably excellent in summer
- heated leather & wood steering wheel - nice in winter
- Homelink
- remote start - nice in summer to start cooling

I would loose the wonderful Ford combination lock which allows locking the keys in the vehicle when at the work-out place, beach, etc.).

The two Jeeps at the show in the pics being discussed were definitely a black overland and a billet limited.

They were clueless with regards to ordering.

The car looks amazing. It has a pretty busy steering wheel - not quite Formula One style but close. Buttons behind the wheel plus the gear levers; and plenty plenty of buttons on the steering wheel.

The headlights. Ah well...they are fugly. Black on Black - it will be ok. I don't like the pattern - a solid piece (rather than hollowed hexagons) would have looked MUCH MUCH better.
Thanks for the pics -- what did you think of the indigo interior paired with the black exterior?

I feel your pain.

I created some spreadsheets to compare pricing, one that just compares the American vs. Canadian 4x4 models:

and one that I can select and deselect options to see where the pricing ends up:

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Can anyone here get me in contact with a dealer that can provide me a quote for 2% below invoice? Location does not matter because when I return from overseas, I can land anywhere and then get reimbursed mileage to drive to my next duty station.
(of course I'm willing to wait for database updates for ordering Limited 4x4, CRD w/Lux II (+more) but ASAP is prefered)

BTW: the "2014" link is gone from the Jeep website Build & Price page

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Yes indeed the link to "build/customize" a 2014 is missing.

The cars were a silver Limited (with Luxury and Advanced Tech packages - but NOT ORA-2) and a black Overland with everything.

The indigo color is...acceptable even to me but I am a black on black person so I will automatically be blind to all other colors. I also resent chrome. One of the first mods would be either to plastidip or paint the front grille and mirrors to hide the chrome. Chrome is a Godsend for zealot cops operating LIDAR.

The fake leather wrap dashboard panels are...plasticky.

I like the new integrated navi/media/vehicle functions control center but I am afraid they did away with too many clickable buttons by transferring the functions to the touchscreen.
