Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Thanks for the info. I had a few posts and was able to PM. From looking at your posts, looks like you are trading in an MDX - right? I am as well. I like mine - just not a lot of fun to drive and never used the 3rd row seats. They were just not very functional. All that said - the Acura did hold its value reasonabley well. I was happy reasonable happy with my trade value.

That was pretty much my feeling about the MDX. The big plus at the time I bought it was the hockey puck antennae. I was throwing lumber and a kayak on the roof quite often. If I had even a short mast it would have been broken at least twice a month.

Trade in value turned out to be its best feature.

The MDX was my fathers so he gave it to me when I got my driver license about 4 years ago and he got a Lexus LS 460 as a birthday gift. The Lexus was great during summer, but sucked during the winter so he decided to get the 2011 JGC overland summit. When he got the new jeep, my MDX was just under 100,000 and I was told by my grandparents that I "Have to get a new car before you hit 100,000". So I said ok. I loved my dads Jeep so I said I'll get one just like his, but I was told I could not get it because it was too much of an older mans SUV (totally disagree). I said ok let's look at other SUV's, but I was already set on getting the jeep and no one was able to change my mind so I got the jeep after 2 months of arguing with a family member.

On that note I love my jeep. And I agree the MDX was not at all practical for me. I was 17 when I got the MDX and the MDX is an SUV for parents I do want to say that the MDX was great and I never had to have warranty service and it held its value ok.

I have no real complaints about my MDX - it was very reliable and served its purpose, but I have three younk kids and I am not sure it is really ideal for parents with kids either. I have been impressed with all the research I have done on the Jeeps and there is really nothing that compares at the price point. All cars are a terrible investment, but the Jeep has the best value for what you get IMO.

I ordered mine a few weeks ago and got a good deal on my MDX. Its an 09 with 75K miles so it was time to get something new.

I have a 2012 Overland and I have to agree, the dashboard leather does almost feel as hard as plastic. They should do something about it.

I don't think anyone can really confirm that, date could be off by a few days.
