The Affiliate program is a benefit extended to employees of certain companies that have a relationship with the manufacturer or to folks who are members of certain organizations. For example, my employer offers the Chrysler affiliate program as one of many discount benefits extended to workers. Folks who are a member of Tread Lightly (an organization) get the affiliate benefit.

What it provides is guaranteed 1% below invoice pricing (plus available incentives and rebates) for the price of the vehicle...no haggle. The dealer gets an additional 1% for doing the deal and there is just a $75 fee for handling the paperwork. However, dealers do not have to participate in the program.

One is still left to "deal with the trade-in" and depending on the timing, the affiliate discount may not necessarily be the best deal. For folks ordering MY14 GCs right now, some dealers are allowing for better than affiliate pricing up front...Milous just explained why they might do that given their carrying costs for a factory order that's not going to sit on the lot is next to nothing and they can still make good money selling at a lower price. When stock is limited and dealers are not discounting as much, the affiliate deal can be very, very attractive to the buyer and the dealer doesn't really get hurt too bad, either. I used the affiliate program when I bought my Summit at the end of last July as it resulted in a better price than I was getting from the various dealers I was pestering.

You know, I really want to call and add the 18" wheel and 8.4" radio package but all I really want is the radio on the off chance I want to add navigation later, and in case I want to use some of the U connect features. I just can't justify about 1400 just for that though. I do think it is funny though how you can add just the 8.4" radio and u connect to the limited for $400 though, so that means they are charging about $1,000 for rims? I'm sure I'm missing something but it kind of seems like a rip off to me...
On another note, I saw on the jeep accessories page that you can add the backup camera to certain displays on the 13's, what are the odds that I would be able to do that with either the Ra2 or the Ra3 radios?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

It appears to me that the differential has been reduced between invoice and MSRP. Manufacturers my be upping the reported invoice number due to knowing the public now has all that information with the digital age the way it is ... I know the standard line is "there's not as much markup as there used to be in these."

$1,000 for quality rims isn't a ripoff. Cheap ebay aftermarket knockoffs run about $600 and quality is very iffy.

When you buy on eBay your not trading in your 17's. The $1000, if that's accurate, is the difference in price from what is standard.

I'm not saying it is a rip off. Wheel prices can run over $1000 for each wheel.

Pretty much zero...different electrical architecture in the '14s means that you cannot retrofit any '14 radio (RA2, RA3, or RA4) into any earlier model Chrysler product. Nor can you ever upgrade radios in '14s (RA3 to an RA4, for example).

The new radios and electrical architecture probably also means no aftermarket options. You're stuck with what you get from the factory.

Until the aftermarket comes out with an adapter...give it 2 weeks after the 14's hit the lot. Also removing an 8.4" ra3 and installing a 8.4" ra4 should be possible but will most likely require a flash. Upgrading the ra3 to ra4 using only a flash however would not be possible because it doesn't have the hd radio tuner and probably other hardware.

They are being loaded onto a ship in China, as we speak.
