I negotiated out the door price. I knew what x% off invoice was and I started with 4% under invoice, they started with invoice and we met pretty close in the middle. The other two dealers in town wouldn't come off invoice at all.

Anyone know of a quick way to see what dealers have a 2014 on the lot in the area without checking each dealer website individually?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

I'm not real happy with the panel gap between the tilt door and the cup holder trim piece ( as shown in post #2716). I'm hoping the JNAP guys or the Chrysler engineers can improve this issue before I place my order this fall. The three vehicles I've looked at so far all have this condition.
I'm sold anyway. Cashmere Limited with Black. The Cashmere exterior will go great with the slight golden color of the center dash and vent pieces.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Anyone who has a WJ and having difficulties deciding which engine to order?

This sound silly, I do. I have been so used to the 4.0 inline six for such a long time that feel I need the most torque possible. Had test driven a Chrysler 300 with the Pentastar engine last year and liked it. However, part of me wants more torque. Leaning towards the V8 but soaring gas prices seem a deterrent. The CRD engine is tempting but with the low miles we incur, it does not seem to justify the premium.

I know this may have been discussed tons of times.

I'm having a hard time deciding between the V6 and the CRD. I was initially completely sold on the CRD since the previous V6 (my13) was a dog... but I test drove a new my14 laredo with the V6 and the 8spd tranny makes a huge difference and the CRD is likely to be a $4000 upcharge. So.... now what... ? LOL

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

^^

Yes it has. Tons of discussions in 11 to 13 models, but the same discussions took place in the WJ forum too. Boils down to this:

The sensible and economical choice is the V6. Relatively good performance, good fuel economy, takes regular.

The V8 will get you more performance but you will pay when you purchase, you will pay at the pump due higher consumption and midgrade recommendation, and you will pay at the service department due to 30k spark plug replacement requirement and there 16 of them.

The CRD is the new variable and the one thing we know for sure is it's an expensive option.

Noticed that you are ordering the ORAII. Well, at least the CRD gives you the QuadraDrive. May be worth it if you are doing serious off roading. Not that I think I'll ever use that capability myself.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Keep in mind that if you are debating the hemi vs the CRD and you also want the lux group, the diesel only adds about $1k to the price. The extra fuel economy and resale value likely means you'll come out ahead in the end.

The "sensible and economical" side of me is totally sold on the V6... it's the damn "wild and crazy" side that still wants the awesome stump pulling torque and 750+ miles per tank of the diesel.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

If this has been covered already, I apologize.

I have ordered a 2014 JGC Summit. I wanted the saddle interior but, on the order info, it read "Jeep brown" - is that what they called Saddle in 2013 - is it the same color ?

Thanks.
