Hopefully I'm reading this correct. If I get an Overland with the Hemi, this option is no additional charge to add or comes with it:

QUADRA-DRIVE II 4WD SYSTEM (AWB) (requires 27P) [MSRP $795 / INV. $ 708] with AWY and EXF or EZH: [(no charge)]
• Elec LTD Slip Differential Rr Axle (DSF)
AWB included with AWY when ordering 22P or 27P

I'm sending out my emails to dealers today and want to make sure I don't miss anything or calculate anything incorrectly.

Can anyone share opinions on skid plates? The most offroading I do is when I go camping or hunting occasionally on forest service roads here in Colorado. I'm sure the 20's without skid plates would be fine if I don't get too far off-road, but i'm also considering getting a 2nd set of rims/snow tires for winter.

Any idea how much it would cost to buy and install all the skid plates included with ORAII? I don't see any other way to order the skid plates and keep the 20" wheels.

Jeepers,

Having no wires is a real plus. But the other real plus is having hundreds,, or thousands of songs on a small card, instead of a bunch of CDs on the seat, or in the half of the console that you still get to use.

Not having a built in HDD that automatically records the CDs is a step backwards for me.

Then again, the computer world is very quickly not only abandoning CD/DVD, but also moving away from HDD to solid-state storage. Although not quite as fast to access as a solid state drive, the SDD card has an advantage of being able to be loaded away from the vehicle. I actually have an HDD in my '12 Summit, but I've never wanted to load anything on it since I primarily play tunes from my iPhone via Bluetooth streaming while traveling and listen to a most-excellent non-commercial radio station locally. (WXPN.org) I don't know that I'll ever use that HDD!

So I took Sno's advice and emailed all the Chrysler dealers within an hour or two from me. I said that I already recieved a deal for 2% below invoice and was wondering if they would be able to beat it or at least match it. I did get a lot of immediate call back. Pretty much all of them said they would match the 2%. One said they think they can do better, but didn't give me any numbers bc they have to wait until they see figures and it becomes available to order (Overland CRD). Luckily one of them were pretty close to home, salesman that I talked to seemed knowledgable of the 14's, as well as helpful and personable. Think I found my dealer and know my build. Just waiting for order banks to open up. I did ask about doc fee's and such, and it was reasonable. Guaranteed under $200 in fee's. Also read some reviews on the dealership since I've never been to this one and everything was good.

I'm happy that my searching for dealers have inspired others to contact dealers for good deals! 1 thing I never did in any of my emails to them was to state I had a 2% under invoice already, so match or beat. If you have affiliate, the dealer only loses that 1% to you (I've heard they actually get 2% so they don't lose any). Some of the dealers stayed right around invoice but some have gone beyond what I thought they would.

I noticed that many of you are ordering the Off-Package. Do you plan serious off-road riding in your $50,000 GC's?
It's a Jeep. :D

Seriously, I expect to get the skids but mostly because I want to ensure that I CAN take it off road without ripping up the underside on an errant rock. I do not intend to be climbing boulder fields with it.... not for a few years anyway.

Member Andoskyy on a "different" jeep forum just posted this in a thread over there regarding the '14 GC:

"FYI. All 4 of the dealerships I've been communicating with said that the pricing was removed by Chrysler today and they're not sure when it'll go back up.

Likely some kind of pricing mistake on the first run. All of them said they had looked higher than they all expected."

Anyone else heard anything along these lines?

What's going on in Michigan? Milous only made 3 posts today, while we haven't heard from ChevyBoy in a couple of days.

Maybe Sergio is coming for a visit and everybody is waxing floors and polishing door knobs.

Regarding pricing convos... I used MSRP prices before we had invoice, and assumed 6% off the vehicle and 10% off the extras. I was close to what Milous posted. I took these assumptions "on the road" and actually stopped in an two dealers I contacted by email initially. I did this last weekend. It took 4 calls and 2 dealer visits to quickly find the "bottom" of the market at invoice, less 4%. I secured that deal in writing from my preferred dealer (I ultimately had the two I visited in person offer me that price). I hate walking into dealerships most times, but if you have a purpose and a clear sense of what you want, they'll play. All you emailers, it's worth considering taking your best offer and visiting another dealer. I ONLY deal with the managers, btw.

Now, the question remains on what they'll charge for fees. I'd love to see others keep posting what they're being quoted. My dealer is still not quoting fees, as they are saying they still don't have *final* pricing. Once I get those fee quotes I'll share. So far I've seen Pat's $162, someone else posted $199, another posted $599. Knowing these prices keeps giving us leverage, but still not insult the dealer. I think that's a good way to do it. Be firm within reason.

That confirms that Mr. M was correct with his pricing. Too bad the first numbers didn't hold up! I'm still pissing and moaning about the $4k Lux Group.

Interesting info potentially on the pricing...I posted Wednesday night when a dealer I have been talking with said they had tentative but not final pricing. Hopefully this turns out to be good news! :)

Another new member here from the Seattle, WA area. Thanks for all the great info so far!

I'm also looking to order a CRD in February, so if everyone from the Seattle area wants to try and get a better deal together at one of the local dealers, I'm in. I haven't been in contact with any yet, but I have been reading some online reviews and have read good things about Bellevue and Dave Smith.

Does anyone know of any lists of the largest volume dealers? I swear I have seen 2 different local dealers in Georgia both advertise recently that they are the largest CDJ dealers in the world. Figure I should focus on working with the larger volume dealers as they will have more backend incentives to work with.

On the Overland, the ORII is only $178 more than buying the QDII alone. At the very least I'll be on the beach and on dirt roads through wildlife refuges. But there is always that one trail that you just have to check out.

If something gets scratched on a Laredo, Limited, or Overland, the repair will be the same. So, what difference does it make which one you're driving.

Folks, appreciate all the info here. I am planning on seeing/e-mailing some dealers in my area next week. I plan on keeping it pretty basic as this will be my everything car (dogs, outdoor gear, etc.) I am looking at a Laredo E with the following options:
Laredo E 4x4 = 30,795
18" wheel and radio package = 1331
OF road 1 = 886
Trailer Tow = 574
Destination = 995
Looks like my invoice is $34581 does this look right? I also am looking around for what Pacific Blue Pearl Coat looks like, any other Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep products with that color? I was really interested in the Winter Chill color, but not for the 2014 year it appears. Thanks for any help.

I've been pondering color choices and flip-flopping between an overland crd and a limited lux crd with tech package. I really like the overland's interior, but the limited (as currently priced) appears to be the better value (to me) when optioned up. Hope the pricing goes down on the Overland (need about $2k to pay cash)

The website that has the best "real world" pics of the MY 13 exterior/interior colors I've found is here: 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Colors | GTcarlot.com - Car Color Galleries

I really like the Black, the green, and the maximum steel exterior colors; and, the light frost interior colors on both the limited and overlands.

Other than the Jeep Brown dash, does the carpet color change on the overland with the light frost interior? In the pics on the first page in the thread, its hard to tell.
