Dear R...

Thank you for your recent email!

I have taken the liberty of looking up the order for your 2014 Jeep
Grand Cherokee Summit and the current status as of February 5th is the
following:

Subfirm Schedule-The parts required to build your vehicle are being
scheduled and as soon as they available and ready, your order will be
scheduled for build. Most orders are scheduled for build within 30 days
after reaching this stage.

With that being said, once your order has reached the "Firm" schedule
status, you will then receive the first email from the Jeep Vehicle
Order Tracking System and have the ability to track your order online.

If you have any further questions, you are always welcome to reply back
to this email and I will respond back to you as promptly as I can. If
you prefer, you can also call me directly with your questions at the
Jeep Product Information Center by calling 1-800-964-0600. When you
call, I can connect you directly to your local dealership, providing
your call is during the dealer's hours of operation.

Thank you for your interest in Jeep, R.... We wish you the best!

Sincerely,

N.......
Jeep Product Information Center

Thanks for this information.

Sounds like it won't be too long before you will receive your first Vehicle Tracking System email; hope I'm not too far behind.

I will call the number listed in email tomorrow to see if they are able to give me any information about my order. I'll post the results then.

Thanks again.

Yes the Summit is available to us Canadians for the MY2014. I ordered it a couple weeks ago from my dealer.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

I have seen this discussion before. Just checking to see whether is worth it or not:

Well, on the way that I priced my options for a Limited CDR with luxury group and off road adventure versus an Overland CDR with off road adventure, the difference is $3100 more for the Overland.

From what I gather, the difference is for the power folding mirrors with puddle lamps; the leather-stiched instrument panel, door uppers and center console armrest; the real wood and heated steering wheel; and the chrome tow hooks.

If these items are the difference, worth the $3100 more?

Thanks, and sorry if this has been infinitely discussed.

Also on the Overland the lower trim is painted and one more interior color option of Indigo blue.

Edited 02/26: Limited has Capri leather seats, Overland has Nappa leather seats with piping.

I'm in the same boat. Waiting to see them side by side before I decide.

Yes I ordered a 2014 Summit Hemi

Don't bet on it. Mine (which I'm giving up because of the dealer) went firm schedule on February 6 and I still have not received an email regarding status from Jeep, even after emailing them about it.

It has been discussed and it depends on what you drive now and whether you want to upgrade or willing to settle for less equipment, how many commas are on your net worth number, how many kids you are paying college tuition for, whether you are willing to have dogs and kids trash the nice interior, how much the lease payment is going to be. Not enough personal details in your post to guess which factor is the largest influence.

One thing is for sure: it's CRD not CDR.

The MY14 Summit is a completely separate model from the Overland at this point and yes, it's going to be available in Canada per Post One.

Limited with your options come with the puddle lights on manual side mirrors and heated steering wheel. IMHO it's not worth it for me but I'm going to go look at an 2014 Overland today just to make sure.

Received first email with VIN less than an hour ago. Right at four weeks.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Hey thanks Bill, I appreciate it but unfortunately the mystery has been solved and having nothing to do with transportation or anything else. Got this today from Chrysler:

Shipped to Storage - Your vehicle has been selected for 100% inspection,
which will take some time. Your vehicle will be put through rigorous
testing and quality audits before being released.

I keep telling myself it's probably a good thing.
