That was my understanding ... March allocation for March production, April allocation for April production. 22 April is definitely in April so this looks like April allocation to me. Now ... a little bit bump in a date and you are in May meaning you might not be able to order until May and probably take delivery by early July, late June.

Honestly ... slippery slope ... Would also love to test drive CRD vs Hemi to see if it is worth it. MPG numbers alone don't justify the purchase for me. If you are buying it only for MPG, don't!

That being said if you want to test drive it than you need to build in additional delay here. If you are NOT in the hurry that who cares ... if you spending that money get what you want. Don't rush it. Also the longer you wait the longer they will have to work out all the bugs related to the refresh and new engine. If I could ... I would wait until end of summer. I cannot with newborn and 200K on my current ride. I already pushed the limits on my current car to be able to order 2014. I guess diesel wasn't meant for me ...

That's my $0.02.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Well at least I am seeing the dates of production now. They went from March 25th to March 18th to April 22nd. I need to call the dealer and cancel the order; oh well, better luck in the fall... At least I will have it by next May's(2014's) trip. Time to get the car dolly fixed.

Is the white piping of the Indigo interior only on the front seats or does it extend also on the rear seats?
White piping and stitching is on the entire interior. I was worried the white might be too much contrast but it accents the seats nicely. Probably only the place the white stitching is a bit over done is the steering wheel ... looks look an attack of a sewing machine. The white stitching does reflect back on the windshield in certain light and sun angles but eventually you quit noticing it.

I will take some pictures tomorrow or Tuesday and post then as we should have some sun then ... and I will have it washed first!

See previous post regarding the Indigo Blue. I am really happy with it as I did not want black or beige so this was my only option. My wife has a 2012 Overland with Saddleback and she still thinks it is better interior. (She is very jealous of some my other improvements.) She is probably right from a higher end luxury look but I think the Indigo is a decent substitute. I imagine Saddleback will come back someday.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

For those who have taken delivery of their MY2014, has anyone experienced an odor in the passenger cabin at idle or low speed? It is a sour smell almost like mildew but not always there and goes away when you get up to highway speed. Noticed this from the moment I drove off the lot. I have less than 200 miles on the new Jeep so thinking it might just be something temporary?

That is the word ... Not sure about anyone else but with the move back of the production launch I'm kind of assuming the order bank for the CRD won't open until early April.

Im thinking maybe order dates for the CRD will still be tuesday even though production doesnt start til April. They estimated to sell only 15% of the market for these. So its not like allocation will fill up. They probably had a parts shortage and didnt want to risk it in March. Now they can just start in April, run production a bit longer and still fullfill all the orders fairly quickly. I am guessing that those who place an order on Tuesday and those who what til April are going to get delivery near the same time. They will just take orders from Tuesday til middle of April then knock them out in a week of production. Just some thoughts.

The one I test drove was quite smelly. It smelled like a combination of the oils and protective coatings, bar code stickers, etc burning off the hot parts and the off gassing of the interior adhesives and plastics. If its like any other no miles car, it will go away after a while.
