Buy another Subaru....lol

Yup. Hope it's a mistake (as it most assuredly is). Also, when I added ORA II to an Overland, the wheels did not change.

Just glitches that will be ironed out.

On the bright side, once that new Fast and Furious movie comes out my resale value should go up.. all the fan boy racers will be out looking for their 10 second cars

Awesome! Glad to hear it. Got my VON this morning. Now to figure out what I can do with it. I think a VIN is needed to start tracking no?Upgrading to level 3 is the next step!

A VON will work for Milous to track. Yup, Level 3 or higher to get tracking.

Thank you everyone for listening/putting up with me for the past 9 months or so asking questions or answering them (sometimes talking out my a$$). It has been a long journey to this point and finally here. I'm no more special then anyone else on this forum that ordered. Just an ordinary guy living 1 day at a time.

Congrats on all of those that got there new Jeep and those that have ordered or will order.

Have you checked the price of a Mercedes Benz ML350 Bluetec? What other manufacturer gives you a diesel with such capabilities at the suggested price? I guess the closest competitor would be the VW Touareg TDI.

Anyway. If a delay means a well built Jeep without exploding batteries (ala Boeing 787), then I'll wait.

Just checked out the ml350 blurted and it is about 65k compared to a summit. Might go test drive one though.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Probably this has been discussed somewhere here (forgive me, this site is huge and overwhelming for us new guys) but, based on a $4500 up charge for the diesel, at what point does it pay for itself over the V6 ?

It's got to be over 100K miles I would think.

If that's true, then ordering the diesel has to be for reasons other than mpg - right?

Am I missing something ?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

The diesel gives you a lot more torque and towing capacity than the V6.

That depends how you define "pay for itself'. Economically, it's going to take a very, very long time to break even. However, you have to keep in mind that the performance of the CRD is in a different league.

So if it takes 100K miles - keep in mind how your driving experience of these exact same 100K miles would have been different.

Compared to the V6, I'd say the additional charge for the CRD is a performance upcharge - like it is for the HEMI.
