I'm guessing that the M in MOTS is Milouse.

Not following the "open ended" part.

I haven't read anything but I was guessing April 2nd is the day ordering will open for April. January, February and March have all been Tuesdays. February and March have been the first Tuesday of the month so I am guessing April would be the first Tuesday of the Month which is the 2nd. I am probably totally wrong on this though.

Just because there appears to be some rhyme or reason doesn't mean there is.
Someone who knows please chime in.

Ok, your busy, we believe you. Could you guess just how big the backlog is? And/Or how many are made/buildt in a shift? or day, or week? At this point it would seem the GC is a victim of it's own success. The CRD has been pushed back, what? 3 times? I'm not sure it even matters. Now that the 3.0 CRD is going into the Ram 1500 I think i'll go that route. Even though it is not due out in the Ram until the third quarter. Who knows? I might just get my diesel Ram 1500 before you guys get your GC limited/overland/summit CRD's.

niggle 1- no CRD in the Laredo, so add $7,000 to upgrade to the limited
niggle 2- CRD upcharge $4,500
niggle 3- in order to get the CRD (EXF) Lux II (AHN) must be included for another $,3000 ( as of 3-7-2013 )

So if anyone was attracted to the GC because of the CRD they will pay. And pay. And pay. To the tune of $14,500 over a base GC. Now if someone was already set on a GC and wanted the extra goodies that come with higher trims. It might not be so bad because they were already looking at a limited/overland/summit. But, GC fans, consider this. What is the take rate of the Laredo? I seem to remember one of the posters here remarking that the Laredo was 43-45% of GC sales. How many of those buyers would even 'consider' spending and extra $14,500 in order to get the diesel?
An extra 47.08%? I don't think so.
USA 4X4 base MSRP Laredo $30,795
14,500 to get the CRD / 30,795= 47.085565838% ouch. I predict the expected 15% take rate will come from buyers who were already planning on a higher trim. Few Laredo shoppers will upgrade at this cost. If I am right, Laredo sales figures will stay relatively flat, retaining approximately 44% of all GC sales. By extension, all CRD upgrades will have to come from primarily the 3 upscale trims of limited/overland/and summit. I'm predicting too few SRTs to even be counted. All that said, No Way In Hell the CRD gets a 15% take rate. Not when it is not available in close to Half of the GCs sold.

2014 Overland test drive. Review and pics of Granite exterior. Amazing!!!

I'm assuming if I order them they'll come with the normal tires for them not the BSW AS On/Off Rd Tires that come with the Off road I package. Is there still a decent AT tire selection for 20" wheels? I won't be really off roading the Jeep but I'd rather go that route than a different set of wheels/tires for summer vs winter.
You won't/can't get 20" with an off-road package. If your not "really off-roading" why do you want an off-road package? You would have to make some kind of arrangement after delivery if you must have them and still want the other items in the off-road packages. The reason is that 20" with tires that will fit in wheel well do not do well off-road. Damaged wheels and lots of flats due lack of side wall depth. I have seen this happen on a Jeep rally last fall to GCs with 20" wheels. It only takes one sharp edged rock to ruin your day.

I would have loved to get a diesel or the hemi but that was my problem, for either of those options it would have been substantially more to do so, I am not interested in really anything the limited provides so why would I spend a extra 6k or so just to get a different engine. Of course if I would have went that way I wouldn't have to wait for the technology to be developed to put a heated cloth seat in a grand cherokee.

CRD pushed back once, really. Cumulative average so far is a very respectable 4k vehicles/week. The WK2 has been successful since day 1, and the refresh has made it even more popular. I agree on the CRD pricing, ouch!

Personally I don't think the CRD pricing is too bad. I was always set on the Ltd. with Lux2 so I when I saw that the price of the Lux2 was discounted $890 for having a diesel I look at the price of the diesel differently.

Now if I could just order one....
