Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

I looked at the black Summit for about 20 minutes. The Jeep brown interior, available only on the Summit, also looked sweet as did the Summit badge on the lift gate. I did not study the Monroney label but doubt it was an option. I would have tried to buy it but it was a V-8. By the way, the polished wheels are almost a satin finish. Not quite but not mirror like either.

The ECO mode is the transmission default as mentioned in a previous post. I doubt it can be defeated by the dealer as ECO mode is what was necessary to attain the mpg figures posted on the Monroney label.

Hmmmm. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing if what you say is true.

Maybe that was the Summit I ordered. Sounds exactly the same!

I just ordered a black summit so now I am wondering what it will look like. Thanks

Hey Chevy have you heard anything about the lower edge of the summits being painted body color now as described above instead of the granite gray they have been? This is news to me

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

"Is there a way in the custom settings to keep the ECO mode from turning back on every time its restarted? Or hopefully, the dealer can do it with their scanner? If anyone knows if it can be done by the dealership, I'll get mine done while they PDI it. But I'm pretty sure they will say it can't be done because they are to lazy to look into the possibility of being able to turn it off."

Since the addition of the Trailer Tow Group IV requires it's removal, I know that it is possible to 'turn it off'. So it's not a matter of CAN they, it is a matter of WILL they. The MPG on the window sticker makes me think otherwise. Once you understand that the ECO is nothing more than a computer controlled shift point in the transmission.............

If you look around the forum, you'll see the Eco button has been discussed to death. (And you call the dealers lazy)

As for it being removed with installation of the trailer hitch ... Somebody probably typed the wrong code. The trailer hitch requires the removal of the rear tow hooks.

I heard some grumbling about the Summit lower trim a while back, but nothing ever got confirmed. However if anything was/is changed, it will most certainly be in addition to the granite. Not a replacement, as I have seen Summits in the past month or so with it.. But I do think that'd be a great option for those who don't want the granite.
