It would be a tough choice for this cowboy - quandry, quandry, quandry.
It would be an easier choice if the Summit didn't have so much chrome, but I think I'd still pick the Summit. Chrome mirrors have to be replaced with brilliant black though for me, that's what I did with my Overland.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Can someone explain this to me?
Quote:
QUADRA-DRIVE II 4WD SYSTEM (AWB) (requires 22P or 27P) [MSRP $795 / INV. $ 708] with AWY and EXF or EZH: [(no charge)]
Elec LTD Slip Differential Rr Axle (DSF)
(AWB included with AWY when ordering 22P or 27P)
I'm looking at an Overland. I don't want the offroad package but i wouldn't mind this option. It's just a straight option though, right? What exactly does it give me and are there any other requirements I need to have to get this option?

The requirement is V8 or Crd. Not available w/V6

Ah nice, the 27p. I was looking for it but didn't notice it next to the engine option. I wouldn't get a v6 anyway but that's just me.

Depends. Is the X5 maxed out, too? Otherwise, a bare bone X5 can be a very boring vehicle.

If the X5 would be fully loaded, I'd opt for the X5 and sell it right on the spot to buy the Summit and pocket the change. after all, the X5 is on its way out.

Does anyone know if there is ANY way at all to order a Summit without those God awful chrome rims? If we get the Summit, anyone with a new Overland want to trade 20" rims?

Should we get a '14 JGC, we've decided it'll be the V6. Now, it's between the Overland or the Summit? I prefer the looks of the Overland but the Summit has the H/K system and some other features I would pay the premium for.

If the Overland came with the H/K system, I would buy that and later add the Summit grill to enhance the front, more to my liking. I'm in the boat who prefers the '11-'13 JGC Styling over the new ones.

BTW - Photoshopped pic of '14 Overland with Summit grill attached.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Two things:

1. The corporate folks don't call the lower trim Granite, they say it's called Gloss Mineral Gray. My opinion, since I have a black Summit here, is that it is Mineral Gray and not Granite.

2. According to the same folks all Summits come with the Gloss Mineral Gray lower trim.

Hmmm.. That's interesting. Cause I definitely saw 2 the other day with black trim. Makes me wonder if they're doing something different with the exports. But then again, somebody here said they saw one on a (US) lot with black trim, right?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

On Saturday I placed an order for a V6 Overland 4x4, Black ext, Black int, Advanced Tech Package.

I have not got an email at all from the dealer or Jeep with a VIN or VON or anything. Should I be worried? Or should I just contact the dealers GSM?

When I was ordering I had to keep correcting the salesperson while ordering on different things that were standard with the overland and what the MSRP costs were compared to the Invoice costs. She didn't seem to really know much and had to keep going and asking her order guy whether I was right (which I was).

Thanks to jeepgarage I went in pretty informed about everything.
