That's the way my dealer tried to order my Summit.

A Summit with Overland wheels.

We'll see if it comes in that way.

Any Overland I've seen so far has been all one color. Has anyone seen anything else?

I think I'll be lucky to see my Summit by April. Seems my insider didn't come through for me. But I've go someone else looking into the matter!

My current 2012 Overland build sheet also says "APA Monotone Paint" just like it does on my 2014 Summit build sheet, and we all know that all the 2012 WK2's (except SRT) had the black mouldings around the wheel wells and along the sill mouldings. So obviously, "APA Monotone Paint" stands for something else.

Won't happen. Only way is if your dealer swaps your Summit rims out with an Overland on their lot or they order from parts counter, which I doubt the latter of the two. First is plausible and has happend before.

My brother had a dealer locate a '13 Overland that came with high polish rims ($500 option) he didn't want and he had them switch them out with the regular rims off of another Overland on their lot.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Again, APA monotone paint stands for exactly that.. The moldings are not apart of the paint process of the car, bc they are not a part of the body, nor are they painted with the car. APA monotone wouldn't apply to say a Laramie Longhorn, or King Ranch F-Series, bc they are actually two-tone bodies.

So basically the moldings could be hot pink, and the technical designation would still be monotone, bc the body is one color.

As for whether or not the moldings come in black, well that's another dead horse not worth beating.. If you look at it at dusk, it's black, if you look at it at dawn, it's mineral granite gray, or whatever. And inside the plant under fluorescent lighting they look black to me.. But outside in sunlight they're more charcoal-ish.. Guess it depends on who you ask and when, the position of the sun, the humidity and direction of the wind.

Just noticed that April 22 happens to be Earth Day... How cleaver for the launch of the Eco diesel

Hopefully the cheesy marketing aspect might prod them to stick to that date

Well folks, tomorrow billet silver metallic is supposed to become available. Hope to see my build status hit D1 sooner rather than later. Wish me luck!

Thanks, guys. Maybe we'll take a flyer on the Summit wheels then.

Buck, let us know how it turns out when you get your Summit.

A little dumbfounded that they only give you one choice of wheels on what is to be Jeep's Premium vehicle.
