Once again - thanks Milous.

Given all that, no way my dealer did all that prep on my wife's 4Runner .

You couldn't do all that in an hour.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

SRT8_Hmi had to wait 3 or 4 days for his dealer to prep his white Overland. But they also wanted to show it to the masses.... and he needed to make up his mind haha. As for the license plate in the front THAT is annoying as s*it... I dont understand the reason for it being mandatory in some states..

Front plates make it easier for the meter maid to write the ticket without having to walk all the way to the back of the car. It also makes it easier for cops to spot a stolen car that is backed into a parking spot.

Agreed front plates are far worse than stickers

It's one more thing I've never heard of.
I got to drive my Limited right after it was delivered to the dealer; it was still in "Ship Mode". The center EVIC display just showed "Ship Mode"; no other gauges; etc., and no odometer reading. The interesting thing on the 7 page dealer prep .pdf is on P. 5 under Disable Front Seat Video - "Use the scantool to disable front seat video while vehicle not in park." This means if you can disable the video from playing while in motion with the scantool you can also enable it.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

I wonder how many dealers actually do everything on the list? That's a lot of things to cover. I'd like to have a check-off list from my dealer when I accept delivery.

For the first 55 years of my life I lived where 2 plates were mandatory. I guess after all that time they just seem natural. When I bought my first Jeep, after moving to DE, those two dimples in the front bumper annoyed the hell out of me. Go figure.

Thanks Scoot, I appreciate it. No, I'm finally getting some news and none of it is good. The dealer is negotiating with the factory on some things and I'm going to do everything I can to wait and take the original one (thanks to Chevy).

I was looking at a Boss 302 the other day. White and badass looking and the dealer had gone a screwed on the front plate bracket just so they could advertise their dealer name on it. Totally screwed up the front end of the car for me.

Buy A Sherry!!! Not only aplate but an awesome bracket to go with it!!
The glass half full way of looking at this is the license plate frame matches the headlight trim
It would not stop me from buying the car if I told them not to slap it on but I'd have them paint it to match the body color. And throw free rubber mats. And a couple of comped oil changes. And...

It's been a natural look to me as well, but when I saw all the pictures of the front end without the plates, I immediately told the dealer to leave it off. I see the picture in your sig and it looks so much better without it, but is it worth the risk of getting a ticket...
