I hesitate to offer an opinion on it as the color shown there might be as bad a rendering as the color they show for the Granite Crystal.

Anybody seen one before ?
Site also finally shows billet silver for the Overland. Doesn't look anything like any billet silver I've seen!

Maybe someone else can confirm or deny: Is it the same deep auburn pearl as on the Chrysler 200s? If so, here is a pic of a 200 in the sun also showing the shady side. Huge difference when light is hitting it.

I thought I'd said this before, but as someone told me a week or so ago, I need to "filter" what I type so it doesn't get misconscrewed. (<<< Did I spell that right?) Anyway, inspection (I) status means two things. 1.) Of course the vehicle is being inspected. Yes. But 2.) when a vehicle sits in I status for prolonged periods of time, theres obviously something that needs to be repaired. Most of the time it's minor crap, but when repair has 50+ cars a week that need minor 2-4hr fixes, things can get backed up. There are only so many repair men, and although they work 12hrs each shift/7days, they can't keep up with the line.
Chevyboy,

Thanks for this info. As someone whose JGC is stuck in I status, I really appreciate it. I presume from what you said that, unfortunately, there is no way to know how long a particular vehicle will be in this status, or what might be wrong?

Just another anxious owner waiting impatiently.

For the purchaser, no.. For us, yes.

The cars are actually inspected throughout the line, and some things are even reported by line workers. Each car that goes to repair has a sheet attached to it that says what needs to be addressed.

Then you have instances where we may run out of something, and the build process continues, because it can be installed/replaced later, and the cars will have to be up fitted later. "If at all possible, KEEP THE LINE MOVING" is their philosophy. You stop that line, and you better have a damn good reason, otherwise, your a$$ is grass!

ALL kinds of things fall under "repairs," but I understand that from you guys' perspective, "repairs" has a negative connotation to it, and makes you wonder, "uh -- what the heck is wrong with my Jeep!??? "

So, let me give you some examples; Fender linings, cabin seals/weather stripping, carpet, etc.. These things are still considered "repairs" because the repairmen are the ones who go back and install parts that weren't available when the cars were built, OR have to replace something that was mistakenly put on the wrong car. Parts are shipped and ordered to the line in sequence, but sometimes things get thrown off. I've seen this with wheels, door trim/lettering, carpet, etc..

So just because a car is in I status for repair, doesn't mean it's junk, and they're trying to make it good enough to ship. (Cause that's what I thought when I first heard of the department. ) But rather repair can mean correction, or catching a build up with parts that weren't available when it was built, and was ok'd to continue to keep the line going. Make sense?

From looking at the average on the orders thread it seems to be around 10 days. But........

Sorry man, I didn't go back over there.. I went in at 4am, and stayed over til 6 today, so I'm beyond tired. When that bell rang for the next shift, I left. I couldn't tell a Laredo from an SRT right about now, anyway.

I'll let you know if I get a chance to get back over there in the morning.

It's ok guy, no worries. I didn't see anything on MOTS or VOTS today. Just take care of yourself and get some sleep

Yes, it does, and thanks for the explanation. It's just very frustrating to wait weeks for the coveted D1 status, wait weeks more for the vehicle to get built, become really excited to see that it's built, and then spend days or weeks in "inspection" limbo while the projected delivery date comes and goes. Rant over.

I really do appreciate the info and all you and your fellow employees contribute to this forum.
