I thought I'd said this before, but as someone told me a week or so ago, I need to "filter" what I type so it doesn't get misconscrewed. (<<< Did I spell that right?) Anyway, inspection (I) status means two things. 1.) Of course the vehicle is being inspected. Yes. But 2.) when a vehicle sits in I status for prolonged periods of time, theres obviously something that needs to be repaired. Most of the time it's minor crap, but when repair has 50+ cars a week that need minor 2-4hr fixes, things can get backed up. There are only so many repair men, and although they work 12hrs each shift/7days, they can't keep up with the line. Once a launch phase is over, and repairs dip a bit, they usually can stay caught up. You must be trained for repair, they dont let just anybody tear apart brand new cars.. I'd like to get into repair, seeing as how it's apart of my background, but I don't have enough "seniority" so whatever..

Anyway, I think I also stated what the most common repairs are. But some cars that may get scratched because some asshole didnt put a cotton cover thingy over his belt, or accidentally bumped it with his/her watch, which also should be covered, gets sent back to paint for reprocess.. But the status never changes. Even if a car is deemed a total loss, for whatever reason, it can be left in I status until they figure out who's gonna eat the costs, and then that build is assigned a new VIN, and the process started over. There's a lot to it all.. So don't think ppl are just sitting around playing cards, getting high and drinking... Although no one has said it, I'm sure many have thought it.
Appreciate everyone for their feedback re my extended stay in Final Inspection.

I never thought the folks at JEEP were dogging it - I was/am pretty sure something is really screwy with my car. That's not encouraging but my hope is all will be worked out and my GCS will be just fine when it gets here.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

I just got an email from the dealer with an updated ship date of 04/03/2013. My order is alongside SNO's, so I hope they end up on the same truck to the Fox Valley area of Wisconsin. However, according to MOTS and VOTS, still in D1 and estimated delivery is still N/A. Maybe, Chevy will see them close to the end of the line tomorrow. Mine is a Granite Limited 4x4 EC169829. Can't wait to see the sparkles on this thing...worse than a kid at Christmas. Thanks to all at JNAP for making us toys with loving care. Appreciate all who have to work the Holiday. If it were up to me, I could wait another day for the GC so you all could enjoy with your Family.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

I was able to see the Summit Jeep Brown interior at a local dealer yesterday. It is gorgeous. Definitely what I'll be ordering. Now just need to decide on the exterior - Cherry Red or Auburn Brown? The cherry is really sharp, the brown very rich looking. The brown is exclusive to the Summit setting it apart from the other trim levels, but is brown inside and out too much brown? Any recommendations?

On another topic, my closest dealer is now telling me he doesn't know if jeep will honor my Affiliate Reward pricing (1% below invoice) on the CRD. Anybody know why they wouldn't? I'm really hoping the CRDs open for ordering with the April allocation and that I'll have my new Summit CRD this summer.

If I can get the right deal and get over my cold feet with all of these QC and Repair issues, I will be ordering a Summit with Auburn Pearl and Brown interior. Trying to avoid Black, White, Silver and Gray both inside and out this time around. And I think it will be neat to have a Color Combo that is a "Summit Exclusive".

And on the other hand, there's triple-time all day long for me, bc it's a national holiday. 12hrs is gonna get me 36 today. So next Friday oughta be a good one too!

But this post wouldn't be appropriate in this thread if it didn't have something to do with ordering. So again, it's a Good Friday. And many of you will be happy to know that your ordering status' should be changing by the end of the day. I browsed the other thread this morning looking at status', and crossed referenced some VINs with what I saw on the floor, and things are looking up folks. And yeah Sno, that includes yours.

So whether this day has any spritual significance to you or not, it's still Good Friday. And lets all AT LEAST rejoice with those who move one step closer to their chance to ride in style.. (I'll celebrate the Man on the donkey.. You can celebrate being "the man" when you "ride in" your Jeep! )
Kind of bummed mine didn't change status today. Oh well tomorrow is another day.

According to the AP terms (at the bottom if the affiliates site) as well as the FFP program rules, only the SRT is excluded. The FFP program is basically the same as the AP program from what I can tell.

As usual though, "subject to change at any time" applies, so who knows.

My dealer is planning on using my number for my CRD order and has not mentioned anything.

I want the 4x4 for the snow. The add on price was about $6900 on the limited. That makes it harder to swallow.

What do you mean?

2014 Laredo 4x4 is $2,000 more than 4x2. I think Limited is also a $2,000 difference between 4x2 and 4x4 (could be $3,000 (can't remember). Overland is $3,000 difference.

Thanks again Milous for sharing your information. I guess that is good and bad news. Good that hopefully I'll be able to place my CRD order next week, but disappointed that production keeps getting pushed out. My concern is that if I am able to place my order that production could just get pushed out again.
