To get the same options on the Touareg that you can even on the Overland you're looking at $60,000 sticker (my Overland build is $54,000). Still you're looking at less advanced electronics, no cooled seats, and a few other things lacking.

Unfortunately, given the company situation, 40 days is not an option. It makes me sad, but it doesn't look good for me driving a 2014 JGC. What a shame, a d it was so close.

I saw that, and appreciate Chevy's explanation. Unfortunately, what he basically said is something big or small is wrong with my Overland, and Jeep will not tell me what or how long it will take to fix it. Not at all Chevy's fault, but doesn't solve my problem.

I've just stumbled across another suspension that can be had on the 2014 overland,I thinks it's called quadra select or quadra drive where there's a different axel or something how does this other 4x4 system differ from the quadralift that comes with the overland? What ate the differences in ride quality etc?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Sorry guys, I bowl on Sunday nights, and although I've made a habit of checking my phone regularly, I never got an email notification for new posts. But now that I'm back home, I see there's been like 20 since I last checked!

Anyway, as John and Sno said, things are what they are, and the cars will stay in 'I' status until someone in repair signs off on it, and it's re-inspected and given a pass.

As for the car that is stuck "in bay at facility," something could have happened as it went to be loaded, or something, and the driver declined to load it, and it was sent back to the plant. But because it was already past 'I' status, it wont go back.. See the truck drivers and freight loaders have their own checklist that they adhere to as well, because if they sign off on a car and it finds its way to a destination damaged, that's their behind! So you've got a lot of different people looking at the same cars. Same thing once it gets to the next stop. Every time a car changes hands, it's rechecked.

Now I know some ppl will say, "well then how do you explain a car getting to the dealer with a scratch here, and this misaligned, and blah blah blah... You mean to tell me EVERYBODY missed this/that!???" And to them I would say, yep! That's exactly what I'm trying to tell you!.. But you (whoever you are.. cause I know you're out there. ), you're right! And these things are unsatisfactory and should be corrected. BUT - because we are humans, some things get by us. So sorry that perfection evades so many of us. Even when it's more than one of us checking out a car. But when you're dealing with several thousand cars a day, the chances that things will get by, increase dramatically. Furthermore, for every blemish/issue that gets by us all, there are thousands that don't. So please lighten up. OR, go buy a car from a manufacturer that only builds 8-10 a day. Not 1300 a day.

Now lastly, back to the point, when a car gets sent back, or delayed for whatever reason, again, don't think ppl are just sitting around twidling their thumbs.. Something is taking place that you don't NEED to know about, but would most certainly b*t*h about had the car shipped faster and got to you sooner.

Again, I empathize with those who NEED their Jeep to arrive soon because they're in a bind and time is of the essence, but for the rest of you guys, if you can afford to wait, just exercise a lil patience, and in the end it'll be worth it.. Just ask John in a couple days. (As far as I know, nobody has waited as long as he has.)

I'm hoping for the same thing. There are a lot of rumors floating around as to why the CRD has been pushed back, but I assure you, they're just fishing.

There are a few hundred Summits on some part of the line, on any given day. There's been quite a few of them built. I have no idea why those cars haven't been updated.

If I was a betting man, oh wait, I am... Anyway, I'd say the 2 that are in D1 are probably already built, and should SHOW at least 'I' status by the end of the week. The ones in pre-release, I don't know about.

Pre-release is kinda like, "hey we received your order, we'll get around to it eventually. " D1 is a very temporary phase. Unless there's a production issue, and the scheduling changes. Which isn't the case. So again, those should be changing shortly.
