So, yea... Pretty much!
Showing the car wouldn't bother me. Letting somebody test drive it would be another story. Early on here I remember somebody had a car come in and the dealer asking him not to pick it up for a few days so folks could see it.

If I knew all this was going on and gave consent it would be a different story. This is why I am thankful for MOTS. It's unfortunate there are many dishonest dealers who wouldn't let you know right away that your vehicle has arrived so that they could show it to other customers. And I'm not trying to argue with anyone here, I'm just simply voicing my opinion.

To which I would have replied, "the Auto show is next month chief.. I'm coming to get my car."

The more people who "check it out" the faster it begins to look like one of those cars at the Auto shows... No thanks.

Now once I've taken delivery, and put a few miles on it, I'll let anybody check it out and/or take it for a spin. It's just a car. But initially, you want it to be exclusive for a while.

Hey Chevy, any update on whether Sno's limited has entered the build process yet? My Overland should be just behind his as I was D1 a couple days after! Awesome that you are there and get to see all of our trucks.

Damn. I'm basing my timeline on a few days after each of your steps! Nothing in MOTS or VOTS for me either obviously.

As I told him, the body was on my schedule last week. Car should've rolled out the back door by now. But what I think happened was an issue we had last Tuesday pushed the production schedule back, and the cars built for the rest of the week were some of the previous day's builds. Then they ran like crap again on Thursday. Further throwing off the schedule. Then we didn't work this past Sunday. And then we had another issue in Body and in Paint yesterday.. So basically we have some catching up to do.

Sno's, and possibly yours, should be built by the end of the week, but who knows how were gonna run. As I said, we had a bit of a slowdown yesterday, but had that not happened, we wouldn't have built much anyway because we're low on parts. The stamping plants just can't keep up. So we'll see.. We're still running, there's just been a couple blips in the last week.

Chevy,

Are the stamping plants Jeep plants or are they suppliers?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

So I get an e-mail from VOTS on 3/20 saying they are processing my order and the site shows in "Production Scheduled" status. I receive another e-mail today saying I am scheduled for production and the site still shows in "Production Scheduled" status. I'm confused....am I really any closer????

Chrysler does MOST all it's own stampings, but do use vendors to do some assembly welding of those stampings.

For example, Chrysler Sterling Stamping (Sterling Hts., MI) stamps out several pieces for my front floor pans, but the pan is assembled (welded together) down at a place called Vehtek in Bowling Green, Ohio. Then it finally gets shipped to me and I'm the last to touch it.

I have no idea how this makes sense, because Sterling Stamping is 1/2hr north of JNAP, and Vehtek is 1.5hrs south of JNAP. Which means parts are shipped past the plant to be assembled, then brought back north. That's just stupid. But that's the way it is.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information

Good afternoon,

Long time reader, first time poster. I've noticed the accuracy of Milous on other Jeep forums, so thought I'd venture a question or three:

1. Why does the new 3.0 liter diesel negate the ability to select the Blu Ray? I noticed I couldn't build on Jeep.com and the forum posting here says that the Blue Ray is incompatible with the diesel package as well...guess not a error on the jeep site then.

2. I'm one of the few to take a new Overland equipped with the ORAII package and actually go offroad. I won't take it in the Rubicon Trail I just did with a stock Rubicon, but other trails seem fine (like Moab). So why can't I order tow hooks for the rear? I don't need a towing package, I want to yank folks out of ditches here in the winter or off a hitch center issue. I notice that the new Trailhawk II DOES have these...why can't an Overland?

3. The Trailhawk II looks GREAT with the diesel for torque, large tires, great Mopar rock rails (i used these as a replacement for the ones that came with the Wrangler) and (I assume) electronic slip "lockers". Any news on whether a full size tire is included, or if the diesel urea tank takes up too much space? And when we could order the new Trailhawk? Wish we had other color choices though.

Thanks!
