Hopefully they aren't watching. If they are they'll see that some of us want the standard options found on the Overland and won't let us get the Lux Group on a non CRD Limited. The Limited with the Lux Group is the deal!

Good answer. Thank You.

Maybe I can find the Max Steel on one of the AAFES lots to take a look at. We (her) tend to like simple silver or black. She also likes light colored interiors generally, but when she saw the brown/indigo pic from the release she said: "0hh, that is pretty."

Thanks for the reply. Can anyone else vouch for the QL reliability? Sorry, I'm sure it's been talked about in length already. How about warranty coverage...extended warranty required/availible that covers the QL. Also, I was considering getting a lift eventually...not possible with QL so will it suite most medium-high level trails/terrain?

...Man, it would just suck to have an air-suspension problem (or warning light), take it for repairs, and then be told "Well, it's gonna take about 2-3 weeks" or "Ok, fixed, that'll be $2,000 please."

Also, can anyone else verify the copper trim (or is it silver) on Limited Black interior?

Max Steel appears almost black most of the time, its no where near a gray/blue (in my opinion). I LOVED the Mineral Gray and am a bit depressed it was discontinued. The Granite is too dark for me, and the billet is too light silver. I wish they had something in between like the Mineral Gray was.

I love the indigo interior too... it just doesn't go with many colors. I might have to settle for the light frost beige with either granite, billet, deep cherry, or black. It does look a little more plush with the brown dash on the beige interior instead of the cheap black (assuming the overland model).

Make sure you look at it in different weather conditions -- a lot of the colors look very different based on whether it's cloudy or sunny and at different angles, Maximum Steel being one of them.

I can't speak to its reliability personally, as I don't even own a Jeep at this point (just ordered a 2014 yesterday though, not with QL though) but I do remember reading that at least early on there were some reliability "issues" with it. However I've also read that each year they've made improvements, and they've apparently improved it on the 2014 as well. Of course, you'll want to do some more searching, etc., before making a final decision.

Regarding the warranty, there are "Added Care" and "Max Care" options (there are threads specific to these) that you can buy separately either for X years / Y miles or a lifetime, and with/without deductible.

The lifetime Max Care I believe is non-transferable except in one or two states, and also I think the cost is around $2K or so for the lifetime plan with $100 deductible.

I hope you're right. I did all my calculations on 5% for invoice which will be on the high end and will take some convincing to get my wife to buy in. Anything greater than 5% will only increase the chance of her saying yes.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Wow this is depressing ....

The new prices on the Overland put it in line almost with the Landrover LR4

Also I cant get the gray or silver with the indigo interior. WTF

Also note, at this time, the lifetime (and, well, any extended warranty) is not available on the CRDs.

...hoping that changes by the time they are on the lots.

If you look at the chryslerwarrantys.com site Diesel is an option and does not stop one from reviewing, and I assume purchasing, a maximum care policy for a diesel JGC. 2014's aren't listed yet though.

If you look at the sample policy the following is covered >>

"COMPONENTS COVERED BY THE PLAN INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):

DIESEL ENGINE: Cylinder Block and all Internal Parts; Cylinder Header Assemblies; Timing Gears and Cover;
Harmonic Balancer; Oil Pump; Water Pump and Housing; Intake and Exhaust Manifolds; Core Plugs; Valve Covers; Oil Pan; Turbocharger Housing and Internal Parts; Fuel Injection Pump and Injectors; Seals and Gaskets."

Are you talking about some other warranty provider?

You are probably 11-14% correct.

PDF stated diesel is not covered. "NOTE: The following vehicles are not eligible for a Chrysler Service Contract:...vehicles equipped with a diesel engine (except Chrysler, Ford and G.M. vehicles); vehicles that operate on other than gasoline or diesel fuel systems"
