Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

3.) "Build it and find out" is a terrible business plan. Even for Chrysler. Fortunately most of the gamblers are gone, and there's more strategy involved these days. I have what I believe to be some sound product ideas, but in the end, there's a reason why those at the top make what they make, and I make what I make. I'm not foolish enough to think I'm better at their job than they are, especially when I've never done it... Although I'd really like to meet the tool who took my GC Carhartt edition idea, and put it into the freakin CHRYSLER 200!!! ... Oh yes folks, it's coming. A Carhartt 200. Cause that car is fitting for the everyday workin man. [/QUOTE]

I noticed that too, wtf?

Good man.

I hope you don't feel like I'm trying to upswell you on the CRD. If so, I apologize, as thats not the case. I just want each of you to get what you really want is all.. They just pay me to build em. Same money, regardless of trim.

Saudi.SRT8 is a name known to all
Some Q's here ... May be milous or one of the inside guys would help .

1- When does the 2014 SRT get shipped to the MiddleEast (GCC) ?

2- Is it gonna get the 19 speakers ? all 12-13 didn't ...

3- which kind of radio would we get here ? RA4 or RA3?

4- Prevues models did not get the remote start here !? R we gonna get it now ? If not could we fit it (use the same oem key fob) or even use the APP to remote start the car !

5- is the towing group easy to install ? Cuz guess what ! We don't get it either ..
6- is there any other differences ?

Dealer is worst than u think around here ! And he is the exclusive dealer in the country. There is no info about 2014 SRT till now .

It's only $95 dollar option so figure best to throw it in.

I do ton of driving too (25k year) 70-80% highway. Good to hear your experience about diesels over performing EPA estimates.
I have the block heater on my duramax pickup. I don't use it much, but when it gets cold outside, say 20 or colder, plugging in at night does make it start a bit smoother. The big area it is nice is that the heat starts coming out of the vents a lot quicker. I plan on getting a block heater again.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Ditto on the block heater, my Cummins has 210K on it and always starts with just a flick of the key, but when temps drop below 45-50 overnight, I'll plug the block heater into a timer for 1-2 hours of heating before I'm due to head out. I'll order my CRD with it, even in TX. My VW TDI (1.9 L) with 225K has never failed to start, but 5.9 liters is a heck of a lot more motor to spin at speeds high enough to get that common rail pressured up! And you're right on diesel mileage, it is ALWAYS under estimated, especially after 30-40K.

Mceb,

Your CRD will cold crank down in the teens without a block heater but for 95 bucks, why not? The QUALITY of the cold start is what its all about. I stone cold diesel below 20 degrees will redefine your idea of a rough idle! It'll run but takes much longer to warm up. A diesel is highly efficient at idle and some can Idle for hours in cold weather and never warm the radiator! A block heater means instant cab heat and driveability.

Thick oil and high compression also tax the starter and battery more than a gas burner in cold weather. Spinning a diesel fast enough to crank with a weak battery in cold weather is a bad combination. A block heater really is a nice thing to have!

Not at all. I've been a diesel driver for almost 10 years and the thought of driving a gas vehicle was going to take some getting used to. The CRD is what got me really interested in the JGC because I know how little compromising there is with a diesel. Great power and fuel economy all in one. Now if they will hurry up and release them, I'd be happy.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Well finally got over to the dealership to drive one and get pricing. This one happened to have the cd player in it and confirmed for me that I won't be getting it. Had an sd card with some music on it but couldn't find anywhere to play randomly. It was base model though so maybe that's why. Price was 3% below with only about $180 in fees. Happy with that plus 9k trade in which was more than I expected so I'll be happy with that.

1- When does the 2014 SRT get shipped to the MiddleEast (GCC) ?
Some are now in prep for shipping, first vehicles should arrive late May.

2- Is it gonna get the 19 speakers ? all 12-13 didn't ...
Yes. (optional).

3- which kind of radio would we get here ? RA4 or RA3?
RJ4 (export models have "J" for middle letter).

4- Prevues models did not get the remote start here !? R we gonna get it now ? If not could we fit it (use the same oem key fob) or even use the APP to remote start the car !
No remote start. I don't believe adding factory version would be an easy/possible task.

5- is the towing group easy to install ? Cuz guess what ! We don't get it either ..
Correct, no tow (just the eye brackets). Possible to add I'm sure, but don't know what would be involved since the '14 is so new.

6- is there any other differences ?
I don't believe so.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Another week (#3) stuck in Final Inspection hell.

I can only assume it has something to do with the engine - my V6 Summit was produced on the same day as my friend's Summit - his was a Hemi - his car arrived at our dealership this AM.

This really, really sucks. Plus my salesman and dealer are A-holes who just shrug when I ask them for some help.
