Mine went to D1 on March 28 and stayed there until I saw it was in Paint yesterday morning and Shipment today, per VOTS. In between, MOTS had it in Inspection.

Hang in there. The line is moving and if yours follows the time line mine took, it'll be built the beginning of next week.

Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 - Transfer cases

and
QT2 needs wheel spin to occur and its operation is parasitic and all it seeks to do is equalize the rotational speed of wheels on the same axle while QD2 operation is more seamless, faster reacting and can actually redistribute torque between the rear wheels. The main difference is the ELSD but also the underlying algorithms for transmission control.

Limiting the discussion to just transmissions and suspension (there's some skid plates, cooling, alternator changes and a few others items that are added as part of All Weather or Off-Road Adventure packages):

QT1 8-SPD AUTO 845RE TRANS is standard on the Laredo trim which can only be had with V6
Adding the all-weather as well as the off-road packages adds QT2 on the car.

--- and ---

QT2 8-SPD AUTO 845RE TRANS is standard on the Limited, Laredo and Summits with V6 as this is the base engine.
Adding ORA 2 adds on the gas V6 engine, regardless of the trim, - Quadra Lift Suspension ONLY

--- and ---

QT2 8-SPD AUTO 8HP70 TRANS is standard on the Limited, Laredo and Summits with V8 or Diesel as these are optional engines
Adding ORA 2 adds Quadra Drive-2 plus the Quadra Lift Suspension.

Paying close attention here will reveal the mysteries.

The difference between transmissions:

I never said anything about replacing the transfer case, I said qt2 is replaced with qd2, which adds the rear elsd. Yes quadra drive 2 is better but if you want the v6 you are stuck with qt2 or qt1. The point was you can get Quadra Lift without the v8 or crd.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Got a heads up this morning that CRD's are starting to arrive at dealer lots for instructional/training purposes. A friend sent me a few shots of the red summit CRD that was waiting at their dealership this morning. For those that are curious, the location of the DEF tank has finally been revealed.

They are coming. Must...wait...

Di you think there'd be any chance for a test drive of these bad boys. That is if we can find one.

Not from what I'm hearing. I know the techs will get to drive them during training, because he keeps rubbing it in... I guess it's possible, but it's unlikely? Depends on your relationship with the dealer I guess. Assuming your dealer has received one. The one that I attached is located in Atlanta.

Spoke to a brick wall at customer service ...

... Friday. I had sent a message telling them I needed a front license bracket and the dealer couldn't order one. First I got an email telling me they couldn't get in touch with my dealer. Friday I got a call and this woman cheerily told me that they contacted my dealer and they can't order them. I said, that's what I said in my email, that's why I contacted customer service. The only thing this woman would say is that "there are no front license plate brackets for my Jeep". I asked what about at the factory, she said no because they have to come from the dealer. She than refused to transfer my call to anyone else. Finally she said she would have her supervisor call me Monday.

I made a few more calls, and by Saturday morning I had a license plate bracket.

Monday afternoon her supervisor did call to say they were attempting to get me one from another state. I thanked him and told him I already had one. I suggested he spend some time either training or replacing his employee. He then went on to say that for my inconvenience he was giving me two years of free oil changes. I checked this morning and the oil change contract shows for my vehicle.

So Jeep does have some folks (probably most) who are really trying to keep the customer happy. But one rotten apple can sure turn a person sour toward the company.
