As I thought, the feature lists it as an Option, I will alter the spreadsheet to reflect it as Standard.

I'm a noob so my apologies if I post these pics wrong...
I'm trying to get some input on the Cashmere. Is it like these? (Sandstone Journey, White-Gold GC, Cashmere T&C)

And to all you Cashmere haters out there: Here's a full cup of haterade and a lid...now SHUT THE FULL CUP!!!

Darn, diesel is a 4,500 up charge, 2x of what the hemi is going for and diesel fuel is more expensive. That is a no go for me.

The confusion here is that the diesel is eligible for an extended warranty up to 7 years and 100k miles, but not for the lifetime warranty.

I don't know why I feel like pushing the diesel here...maybe to continue to justify it for myself...and, the more diesels sold the better possibility fuel prices will drop.

Anyway...Think of it this way:

(All numbers are ball-park
Denver to Detroit is 1,300 miles, 25 gal @ $4 = $100 (that's ONE fuel stop)

Family of 4 can road trip to see relatives for $400...while pulling a camper (small pop-up, but hauling a trailer nonetheless)

with a HEMI, I'm guessing, would be closer to $600+ in fuel

*Side note:
my prefered camping spots would add miles to it though 'cause they'll be nowhere near the beaten path...Man, I can't wait. C'mon March (order time)! Oh....I guess I'll need to do an axle-flip on my pop-up and add larger tires (might sound ghetto but have you seen the prices of those off-road camper trailers?...$10,000...forget about it)

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

The miles between fuel stops is pretty impressive with the diesel. But even in my younger days I couldn't drive 700 miles without stopping, just to get rid of and replace a large cup of coffee.

I'm not for or against the diesel, it just wouldn't make sense for me. I trade cars every 2 - 4 years, with very low mileage. My MDX that I'm trading is just approaching 8,000 miles. I'm not sure that diesel has caught on enough in the US, yet, to come close to recouping the initial investment. That day may come.

Good point. And I'd be stopping a lot too but the fuel should last even to run some 110v gear at each campsite.

Also, for me, I'm hoping to pass this GC on to my son some day...taking great care of it it the meantime (Wish my dad did that)

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

I can hear it now at a Pilot along the interstate. "Guy in the silver Jeep your shower is ready." I'd even buy a cb radio! Stopping to take a break at a McDonald's beats stopping for gas and somewhere to grab a bite and stretch in my opinion. With that said I'll keep my V6!

If they believe in this diesel, then why not prove it? For a $4,500 upcharge, the lifetime drivetrain warranty should be included to the original buyer.

I wanted the diesel to replace the v6 for the purpose of towing efficiency of small trailer and range. I could deal with the increased fuel cost but not with the 4,500 extra cost. If they really do want the diesel to be more popular, the cost equation needs to be revised. At least the 8 speed is available now, which has got to be better than the 5 speed and I'm excited about that.
