MajorTom,

I'm in Indy too and have been shopping for 2014 Overland. Which dealer did you work with to get 5% below invoice? All the ones I've talked to in the area balk at anything past 1%.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

I got my new 2014 JGC Summit V8 Today!

Price $49571, and I got a great trade-in value on my old 2011 Kia Sportage, which was $875 more than the second highest offer I got for trade in!

So now, here is the hard time I'm having! jeep.com is the only place that does recognize my VIN number! Insurance doesn't recognize, vin checkers don't recognize it.

Is it expected for a brand new model that databases aren't yet up to date with new VIN numbers? Can I have any problem with title or registering the car?

btw, grabbed some more vin numbers out of a couple of dealers websites and they are all similar to mine, and all coming back invalid or no record.

Update on my buying process or lack there of. 2nd dealer replied back to email telling me that he is unable to order the V6 at this time and that he can do invoice on the price, when can I come in?

OK, ok stop laughing everyone, I replied back with a simple "the offer sheet I emailed you shows a 4% below invoice by my rough calculations, are you unable to match that?"

Ding!!!, Let the games begin...

They basically told you to leave by stating they cannot order a V6. That is BS to me IMO. This is an investment-I would like to get what I want, not what the dealer says I should be happy driving home in.

true! even though dealer said he couldn't match the price on the summit I bought from another dealer, one of them offered to order anything I wanted and still be willing to go on discount over the invoice!

so if you are willing to wait and maybe pay a little more, dealer should be ready to order to your specs!

Yeah that's the sense I got. I'll keep poking at it though. Mind you this a dealer that I went to about 2 weeks ago and they had one 14 summit that hadn't been inspected yet and they let me see it and the guy knew nothing about it. So bad that he wasn't sure if the summit had heated seats due to him not finding the heated seat button. He didn't have the keys. Also the manager of that salesman came out as we were leaving and asked me how come I wanted a MY14 and that I should have a look at their MY13. I told him that the MY14 was a much improve vehicle and he asked me what was improved with a glazed eyes look. He was clueless and he was the manager. Pathetic, I know. But this are the people I have to deal with here in my huge town of El Paso, TX.
