Thanks!!!

I used most of the tactics here and came away at 49,536....I had been talking to a couple different dealers here for awhile....They called me yesterday at 6PM and told me they had a White Summit with Black Interior that just came in so I sat up an appointment for today for 2PM to check it out, but when we got there they said they had already sold it last night...????

Anyways, all they had on the lot were black Summits, and the White ones that were close were all brown interiors...They found (1) white with black interior in LAX, but wanted me to pay sticker 54,685 + 2,500 for transport etc., I laughed and thought it was comical, then we started talking the trade in on My G35 which is free and clear, they came to me with 15K for it...We nearly left until the Sales Manager came and we began to talk invoice where the intitial salesman didn't even want to deal...

Long Story Short, we kept our Car for now, but we will sell it outright. I'm confident we can get 24K, easily 20K for it, because of the low miles etc., but we also got our SUV that we wanted color, style etc., We just recently added a new addition to our family and actually have been needing something bigger for the last 5 months so we closed the deal today to move on with life.

The Sales Manager told us we clearly did our homework, but we were difficult to deal with. He acted like he lost money on the deal, and I just laughed and told him you wouldn't have sold it if you really lost money...

Can't wait for our ride to come in though...they said anywhere from 6 to 8 weeks

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Here is what I'm considering for a negotiation strategy: I was thinking of getting email addresses of sales managers of a dozen or so dealers (I've got a dozen or more within a 50 - 75 mile radius), then when the order banks open for the CRDs, send them all an email with my Affiliate Reward certificate number and say that I can get 1% below invoice pretty much anywhere, so whoever gives me the best price beyond that will get my order.

I know it isn't very personal, but I can take the vehicle anywhere for service, so why not just buy it where I can get the best price? Thoughts?

Play them off each other at least three times... "I've got x below invoice, who can beat that now?"

I've got a large dealership down the street from me. I'm going to walk in there with the Koons offer and see if they will beat or match. Otherwise... road trip!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Serious question.

Reading all the posts about the amount of effort people put into getting a better price;

Is it really about the money, or the feeling of winning?

For a single buy I think you did very well, good job! I ran into the same thing on the trade they were coming in way to low, I sold it on my own in 3 days for double the price I was offered from them lol.
Just don't plan around the estimated delivery date of your jeep like it is set in stone or you will be renting a car for 2 weeks like I did after I sold mine . Those delivery dates are very fluid just remember.

You are going to love the Summit, I have only had mine a few days and really like it a lot, this is my first jeep.

If you move up to level 3 membership you can watch your jeep through the build and delivery process if you send Milous your VIN. Anyway congrats on the order.

For me personally bill is more of the satisfaction of knowing that I am not getting *bleep* by the dealership or shall I say stealership like most of the shoppers are. It is about bringing a little bit of balance to this very abused and profiteering car sales business.

For me, getting the vehicle I want at a fair price is better than all the stress trying to battle for the last dollar.

So at best you got invoice price because of the 100 dollar Tread Lightly fee, 75$ and 250$ that it just became 400 $ or 1% off a 40,000+ car. And if your car is not invoiced at $40,000 or more, then you paid more than invoice. You should have negotiated harder and walked out dealership after dealership until you found one where math worked in your favor, if only slightly.
